Magdalene Hope We are a nonprofit that reaches out to individuals who are working in the commercial sex industry (either by choice or as a victim of human trafficking).

Many of the individuals we meet on the street come from different backgrounds. Many work for themselves and others are trafficked. Human Trafficking is a form of Modern day slavery. It is a crime that involves using force, fraud or coercion to recruit, harbor, transport, provide or obtain a person for the purposes of sexual or labor exploitation. It sometimes involves the transportation of victims across international borders; however, persons can be trafficked within their own countries and even within their own communities, this is what we see more often than not. According to the United Nations, trafficking of humans is one of the largest and fastest growing international criminal activities.

Today we welcomed all three Lowe’s Home Improvement Stores and their employees as we started phase 4 of the Bakersfield Women’s Center’s Donation Processing Wing. Earlier this year we were selected as the 2026 Lowe’s Heroes recipient as their nonprofit to benefit from their charity. The Greater Bakersfield Chamber Leadership Team #4 is partnering with Magdalene Hope and Lowe’s to see this vision become a reality. Thank you to Leadership Team #4 and to Lowe’s of Bakersfield for this wonderful blessing. Phase 5 starts tomorrow morning. Ribbon Cutting will be on October 22, 2026 at 4pm, see photo number 10. Join us as we celebrate this expansion to help more women and children in our city.

We have just under 29 hours left for our pledge drive as we are hoping to match a $10,000.00 donation. A u We have just under 30 hours left for our pledge drive as we are hoping to match a $10,000.00 donation. A unanimous donor has put out a challenge that every dollar raised they will match up to 10K. Currently we are at $1,860.00 and are only $8,140.00 away from our target goal. Would you please consider helping us reach our goal by Sunday June, 7th at midnight? When you give, women live! All proceeds benefit victims and survivors of s*x trafficking as well as women and children here in our community. All donations are tax deductible. If you feel led and would like to donate you can do so on our website at magdalenehope.org

If you haven’t heard, we were contacted by a team from the and asked if we had an upcoming project that they could adopt and invest their time, talents, and treasures into? We explained that we had a vision for expanding the Bakersfield Women’s Center and they thought that was a perfect fit for what they were looking to be a part of. Thank you Bakersfield Leadership Team #4 for all of your hard work yesterday and today. The place is starting to look amazing.

Thanks to a generous donor,
all gifts given through this weekend
will be matched up to $10,000.00. Any gift given now through Sunday June 7, 2026 will be doubled!

This is huge for us as we recently lost a couple of our biggest donors due to crop failures and financial hardships. Please join us in prayer for our former donors to see an overwhelming financial blessing poured out on them and their families.

We have been in prayer and asking the Lord for $20,000.00 for the last several weeks and we believe that He is going to use good people in our community to help answer this prayer.

Thank you for partnering with us and for your prayers and support.

You can give online at magdalenehope.org - or through mail at:
