We've been quiet here for some time but have some news to share. Summit Food Coalition began as a group of community members and leaders passionate about local food and food justice. The work was greatly elevated under the leadership of Director Beth Stropki Knorr. Beth is now applying her passion for local food and farming as the the Ohio Program Manager for FairShare CSA Coalition. As the Advisory Committee does some strategic planning for the future, partner organizations will facilitate the Local Produce Delivery Program and Neighborfood. Please stay tuned for more information about these programs and the future of Summit Food Coalition.

Our friends at Summit Reworks are offering a compost giveaway this spring! Applications are now being accepted through the link, with a deadline of April 8!

Community gardens are a visible sign of a commitment to improving green space and community aesthetics, and ReWorks would like to recognize this commitment by offering a chance for these community gardens to receive free compost.

So proud of the work of our friends at Let's Grow Akron! Go support this community-based organization.

As of today, Let's Grow Akron Community Farm Market is open for in person shopping! We took a giant, faith filled leap into the unknown TWO years ago when we began converting a vacant house across from our headquarters into a commercial kitchen and retail space. Many new skills, lessons and inspections later we are so grateful to open the door to this little market that will provide year round space for production and access to fresh neighborhood grown produce and value added products! Stay tuned for details about a Grand Opening Celebration in July. In the meantime, come check out the Let's Grow Akron Community Farm Market & Kitchen at 462 Harvey Ave. on Tuesday - Saturdays 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. No worries, you can still place an order for pick up or delivery through the online market: https://lets-grow-akron.square.site/
