Cici has been with us for a little over two weeks now and boy has she come far! I don’t know what her life was like before rescue but I do know she wouldn’t have survived much longer without help. Cici was found barely moving, blind, almost deaf, emaciated, fly eggs laid in her eyes, and utterly exhausted. A wonderful human from Conservatory CC found her just in time. She was quickly scooped up and we were called to help. Because of the emergency situation we said yes to intake.
Upon meeting Cici I wasn’t sure she’d survive. But we had to try. She was found to have feline distemper and mycoplasma. She couldn’t see, smell, hear well, or even stand. She spent two days in hospital at Cape Veterinary Hospital receiving fluids, antibiotics, anti nausea meds, and an appetite stimulant. At the sanctuary she continued to receive fluids, meds, and around the clock care. Slowly Cici started to recover. Support from the community has helped her heal. Cici can now walk, smell, hear, eat, and can see just a little bit. In 2 weeks this strong little girl defied odds and survived! In fact, she thrived! She still has quite the journey ahead of her but I am so proud of her progress.
Thank you all for your love and support for this little nugget. She is so strong! She’s even stronger with the power of positive energy and prayers so please keep them coming. Cici feels your love!
