🏆 We’re celebrating a special recognition for some very important work in our community!

We’re honored to be part of The Early Childhood Educators Homeownership Initiative – Developer Group, which recently received the 2026 Husch Blackwell Building Blocks Award at the Milwaukee Awards for the Neighborhood Development Innovations (MANDIs)!

We are proud to share this award with Envision Growth Program, VIA Community Development Corporation, Rooted & Rising - Washington Park, our partners in helping make homeownership more accessible for early childhood educators.

The people who care for and educate Milwaukee’s youngest residents deserve the opportunity to live, work, and build a future in the communities they serve. We’re proud to be part of a collaborative effort working to make that possible.

Please join us in welcoming two new members of the Milwaukee Community Crossroads leadership team! 💙

We’re excited to welcome Shardé Jennings, Director of Programs and Operations, and Sharon Cross, Director of Development and Communications, to MCC!

A Milwaukee native and longtime community advocate, Shardé brings more than 15 years of experience in care management, program development, crisis intervention, and community-based services. She is passionate about meeting people where they are, building meaningful relationships, and helping bridge gaps in basic needs.

Sharon joins MCC with 13 years of nonprofit experience spanning youth development, nonprofit administration, and fundraising. Having served organizations including City Year Milwaukee, Milwaukee College Prep, Our Next Generation, Running Rebels Community Organization, and Riveredge Nature Center, she is excited to connect individuals, donors, and volunteers to MCC’s mission.

We’re so grateful to have Shardé and Sharon on our team and look forward to the experience, passion, and community connections they’ll bring to MCC as we continue to cultivate a vibrant Milwaukee community.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Community Violence Prevention Safe Summer Block Party this past weekend! It was wonderful to see our neighborhood come together to celebrate the start of summer in a fun, welcoming, and safe environment.

Families enjoyed an afternoon filled with face painting, henna, yard games, a dunk tank, delicious food, music, and so much more. Most importantly, the event created an opportunity for neighbors to connect, children to play, and community partners to share valuable resources.

A huge thank you to our staff, donors, and community partners who helped make this event possible.
