We're taking it back to 2010 for this week's . Rick Bannister, Jimmy Reynolds and John Willis participated in the Follow the Son Motorcycle Club fundraiser for Anchor House. The ride, which drew 32 motorcyclists with six cars following behind and 61 total people, started at Gaiser Park in Seymour and stopped for lunch at Gasthof Amish Village in Montgomery. The event raised $1,650. The club had started a year prior, and members tried to hold at least two rides per month. This was the group's first fundraiser.

In June 1996, Shirley Runge, president of the Jackson County Central Services Inc. board of directors, was featured in The Tribune as part of a weekly series focusing on volunteers who help make Jackson County a better place in which to live.

Runge, a full-time Realtor, was a major player in the opening of Anchor House in a building on South Vine Street in Seymour that previously housed a shoe factory. She volunteered to coordinate the day-to-day operations of the homeless shelter as it prepared for opening.

When Ben from Peeks Carpet Cleaning called us up and offered to clean some carpets for free for us, the Timing couldn't have been better. Our office carpets needed it bad. We were wondering if we needed to replace the carpet. We had no idea that this was the sort of transformation we were in for. Our Emergency Shelter Staff feel like they are working in a new building. Check out the in-progress cleaning photos and the before and after photos! The photos don't even do it justice because I think the camera had to adjust for how dirty they were before!

Thank you Ben and Peeks Carpet Cleaning for blessing our staff and guests with an amazing looking floor!
