Topeka Rescue Mission Ministries

Topeka Rescue Mission Ministries Ministering to those in need by bringing Help & Hope through serving those experiencing homelessness and hunger.

Since 1953, TRM has been a beacon of hope in the Topeka and NE Kansas communities to those experiencing homelessness, hunger, poverty and many forms of trauma. In 70 years of service TRM has grown from a small facility with basic services and just a few beds, to a multi-facility organization that provides shelter, food services, housing opportunities, human trafficking and trauma interventions, re

habilitation, and education for thousands of people in need every year. Additionally, TRM works closely with other community organizations to bring food, clean clothing and showers to unsheltered individuals in the Topeka area. From providing shelter to 1,127 different individuals, to helping 232 individuals find safe and permanent housing, to providing 589,420 meals in 2022, TRM works tirelessly to support those in need in our community. We believe every person who walks through our doors is loved by God, and that each day is an opportunity to change someone’s life for the better. We strive to identify and help heal the root causes of homelessness and poverty, working daily to bring Help and Hope through serving those experiencing homelessness and hunger. TRM is proud to have a 4 star rating (out of 4) - 100% on Chairty Navigator. Visit https://www.charitynavigator.org/ein/480688068 for more info! Partnership and collaboration make our community stronger.

For many years, Topeka Rescue Mission has been grateful to partner with both Let's Help and Catholic Charities in serving individuals and families throughout our community. We are encouraged by these two organizations joining their efforts and look forward to seeing the impact this partnership will have.

We are thankful for Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas and their ongoing commitment to serving our community. As they transition to a new location, we look forward to continuing our partnership and supporting one another in the shared mission of caring for our neighbors. During the temporary closure, Topeka Rescue Mission stands ready to help meet the basic needs of individuals and families who may be affected by the transition.

As this transition unfolds, we invite you to join us in prayer:
• Pray for the staff, volunteers, and leaders guiding this change with wisdom and grace.
• Pray for the resources TRM needs to continue serving our community well.
• Pray for the individuals and families who may experience disruption, that they would find provision, hope, and compassionate care.

Together, we can continue strengthening the network of care in Topeka and ensuring our neighbors experience the love, hope, and support they need.

In this episode (https://bit.ly/OCOM_EP316) we discuss one of Scripture’s most powerful images of grace, the father who watches in Luke 15, and what it means that he does not simply wait for his son’s return but runs to meet him. Through stories of faith, compassion, and unexpected moments of care, we explore how God calls us to see people beyond labels, beyond assumptions, and beyond their worst decisions. Sometimes the greatest act of love is simply keeping watch for someone a long way off.

Partnership and collaboration matter.

Because of the support of United Way of Kaw Valley and generous community members like you, individuals and families have access to food, educational resources, shelter, and support when they need it most.

No single organization can meet every need on its own. It takes collaboration- neighbors, nonprofits, churches, businesses, and community partners working together, to create lasting change. We are grateful for our partnership with United Way and the many ways we work together to strengthen our community.

Every gift given today helps strengthen this network of care and support that serves our neighbors year-round.

Thank you for helping us make a difference together.

SO CLOSE!

Good morning all! Hoping you and yours weathered the storms. In case you were preoccupied with Mother Nature's shenanigans last night, or maybe lost power or internet, we will be keeping our Day of Giving portal open through Thursday.

We are just a few thousand away from our $30,000 goal, and our partners and communities are counting on us to reach it.

So if you were thinking about donating, now is the time to follow through! Just go to UWKVDayofGiving.org to give online now. And if you've already given, THANK YOU!
