Casa de Amparo

Casa de Amparo is a nonprofit organization in San Diego, CA that provides mental health support and resources to help people heal, grow, and thrive.

Established in 1978, Casa de Amparo (Home of Protection) is recognized as a leader in treating and preventing child abuse and neglect in San Diego County and beyond, with locations in Oceanside and San Marcos. The non-profit organization annually serves over 422 Casa Kids, from prenatal to 25 years old through two integrated programs that promote healing, growth, and healthy relationships. These programs include Residential Services and New Directions.

Thank you to our volunteers from Coach for holding an art workshop for our Residential Treatment participants! It was a fun afternoon decorating personal “bags” and painting pieces of artwork that were unique to everyone and got their creativity flowing! 👜🎨🖼️

Interested in donating but don’t know where to start? There are so many ways to make a difference at Casa de Amparo!
Our friends at Community Lutheran Church recently hosted a hygiene drive benefiting Casa, bringing their members together to collect hair care, body care, and feminine hygiene products for our programs. It’s a great example of how you can bring friends, coworkers, neighbors, or community groups together around a common cause.
Giving can also be as simple as adding a few extra items to your cart during your weekly grocery run. A bag of rice, an extra box of cereal, or even unused items from a bulk purchase can help provide everyday essentials for the individuals we serve.
Every donation, big or small, helps Casa de Amparo provide the support and resources individuals need to heal, grow, and thrive.

Back-to-school season is here at our Casa Kids Campus!📚🏫

Last week, youth in our Residential Services program had the opportunity to shop at our Back-to-School Boutique, where they picked out their own backpacks and filled them with all the school supplies they need for the year ahead.

A very special thank you to our generous donors and incredible volunteers who made this experience possible. The colorful OOLY - Art & School Supplies goodies were especially fun! Because of your support, our youth can head into the new school year feeling prepared, confident, and ready to succeed!

This week, our Enhanced Care Management (ECM) team represented Casa de Amparo during National Night Out, hosted by the Oceanside Police Department! It was a wonderful opportunity to connect with the community and highlight our ECM care coordination services for Medi-Cal-eligible individuals.
Thank you Oceanside Police Department for an evening full of fun! We can’t wait for next year!

Having a community that is eager to help support youth at Casa de Amparo is something that we truly value. Yesterday, our Transitional Living Program participants had a baking workshop with our volunteer, Blair! Together, they baked an assortment of cookies, including sugar cookies, oatmeal cookies, and madeleines! It was a great way for the participants to learn new skills and enjoy tasty treats to kick off the weekend. 🍪👩‍🍳

We are proud to be a member of the San Marcos Chamber of Commerce and part of the local business and nonprofit community. Representatives from our Development team enjoyed an evening of connecting with fellow professionals and nurturing meaningful relationships as Casa de Amparo continues to grow.

We are proud to introduce our 2026 Crystal Ball honorees!

Since 1999, the Crystal Ball Gala has brought our community together to raise funds that help children, youth, and families look into their own crystal ball and see a brighter future. Proceeds from the event directly support Casa de Amparo’s programs and services, helping people heal, grow, and thrive.

Each year, we honor individuals whose compassion, generosity, and dedication to Casa de Amparo have made a lasting difference.

We are pleased to recognize our 2026 Crystal Ball Honorees: Mark and Hasty Pidgeon.

🔮 The 28th Annual Crystal Ball Gala takes place on Saturday, November 14 at the Fairbanks Ranch Country Club.

This magical evening of celebration, connection, and philanthropy is also an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of local children, youth, and families who have experienced trauma.
