ElkhartCares is proud to share an update from Technical School Scholarship recipient Rylee Dippel. ❤️
Since receiving her ElkhartCares scholarship, Rylee has graduated with her Associate Degree in Welding and begun a full-time career in manufacturing. She is currently working at M-B Companies in Chilton, Wisconsin, where she specializes in heavy fabrication and helps weld structural components for commercial snowplows and truck cabs.
Rylee’s journey is a powerful example of what can happen when local students are given the support and opportunity to pursue their goals. We are so proud of her hard work, her commitment to her community, and the ambitious future she is building.
Rylee shared this update with the ElkhartCares Board:
“I am writing to express my deepest gratitude to ElkhartCares and to provide an update on my professional journey since receiving your generous support. I am proud to share that this past December, I successfully achieved a major milestone by graduating with my Associate Degree in Welding.
The transition from the classroom to the workforce has been incredibly rewarding. The deep technical foundation and advanced training I received through my degree program have opened doors for immediate, impactful employment.
Since graduation, I have stepped directly into the manufacturing sector and am currently working full-time at M-B Companies in Chilton, Wisconsin. In this role, I specialize in heavy fabrication, welding the structural components for commercial snowplows and truck cabs. Applying the advanced technical skills, safety protocols, and weld processes I learned in school to real-world heavy equipment production has been an invaluable experience.
To build up to this point and broaden my industrial skill set, I previously worked part-time at local gravel pits. That experience allowed me to gain vital, hands-on knowledge operating heavy machinery, giving me a well-rounded understanding of the heavy equipment and industries that rely on structural welding.
Currently, alongside my full-time welding career, I also work part-time bartending at two local establishments. Balancing these roles has kept me highly driven, grounded, and deeply connected to the people in my community.
Beyond my professional pursuits, I believe firmly in giving back to the community that supports me. Recently, I have taken the personal initiative to volunteer and participate in local fundraisers dedicated to supporting our first responders. Standing alongside our local emergency services and helping raise funds for the individuals who keep our communities safe has been a profoundly meaningful way to spend my time.
While I am thoroughly enjoying my current work in heavy fabrication, my ultimate career vision involves pushing the boundaries of what a traditional welding career looks like. Armed with my associate degree, my long-term goal is to transition into the highly specialized field of commercial underwater welding.
To achieve this, I am currently planning my next major milestones: earning my professional scuba diving certifications and obtaining my pilot’s license. By mastering commercial diving and aviation, I intend to build a life centered on travel, technical expertise, and global exploration—taking my trade to unique, challenging environments around the world.
None of these milestones would have been possible without the belief and financial investment of ElkhartCares. Receiving this scholarship took an immense financial weight off my shoulders during my college program. It allowed me to focus entirely on my rigorous coursework, perfect my hands-on welding techniques, and graduate on time and with confidence.
Your support did not just help fund my education; it fueled the launch of a lifelong career and gave me the stability needed to pursue my highest aspirations. Thank you to the entire ElkhartCares Board and donors for cheering me on and helping me build this foundation.
With sincere gratitude,
Rylee Dippel”
Congratulations, Rylee. We are grateful to be part of your journey and cannot wait to see where your future takes you.
