Sometimes a helping hand is all it takes.
If you or someone you know is going through a difficult time, ElkhartCares is here to help. Through our neighbors-helping-neighbors approach, we support local individuals and families with needs such as transportation assistance, clothing for children, healthy food, school supplies, and other essentials.
We can also help students participate in sports, arts, clubs, and other school activities when the cost of equipment, supplies, or fees becomes a barrier.
If you live in the Elkhart Lake–Glenbeulah School District and could use support, please reach out at ElkhartCares.org/apply or through https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=8NY5FD2Q46TVL

We’re proud to help students take part in the activities that make school meaningful — from sports and music to STEM, clubs, and the arts.
ElkhartCares can help with school fees, activity costs, supplies, equipment, and other expenses that might otherwise keep a student from participating. That can mean supporting materials for a classroom program, helping a family keep a child involved in an activity after an unexpected hardship, or making it possible for a student to try something new.
As students head back to school, we want local families to know that help is available when these extra costs become difficult to manage.
And when you give to ElkhartCares, 100% of your public donation goes directly to programs and families in our community, thanks to a generous grant that covers our administrative expenses.

A little support can make a big difference. 💚
At ElkhartCares, we believe in neighbors helping neighbors — making sure members of our Elkhart Lake–Glenbeulah community have a place to turn when they need a little extra help.
ElkhartCares can assist local individuals and families with needs such as utility bills, transportation, clothing for children, and more.
And as the new school year approaches, that support can also mean helping with school supplies, new fall clothing, healthy snacks, or the equipment and athletic wear a student needs to participate in a sport or extracurricular activity.
We want every child in our community to have the opportunity to learn, participate, and thrive — regardless of what their family may be facing.
If you or someone you know could use this type of assistance, please reach out at ElkhartCares.org/apply or through https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=8NY5FD2Q46TVL
And to our donors and volunteers: thank you. Your generosity is what makes it possible for ElkhartCares to say “yes” when a neighbor needs a helping hand. 💚

ElkhartCares continues to provide critical emergency assistance for local families facing unexpected hardship.
A recent grant helped a mother and her school-aged daughter remain safely in their home during an incredibly difficult season following a family tragedy. Support helped stabilize housing, preserve transportation, and meet essential needs—allowing the mother to focus on rebuilding while her daughter could continue attending school with greater consistency and security.
In moments of crisis, timely assistance can help families regain stability, protect a child’s routine, and create space for hope.
Your tax-deductible donation helps ElkhartCares respond when local neighbors need support most.

ElkhartCares Supports ELGHS Community Service Day
ElkhartCares was proud to provide grant support for transportation during the Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah High School Community Service Day. ❤️
Each spring, the entire ELGHS student body and high school staff—more than 140 students and approximately 17 staff members—spend time serving at project sites throughout the community. While some groups are able to walk to their locations, others need transportation to reach volunteer projects farther from campus.
This year, ElkhartCares helped make those projects possible by supporting the cost of bus transportation.
Students volunteered at locations including the school forest, where they removed invasive buckthorn; Glenbeulah Park, where they raked, picked up sticks, and spread mulch; and the Henschel Indian Museum, where they cleared paths and effigy mounds, removed pond weeds, and helped prepare the grounds for visitors.
Other groups served at Rocky Knoll, Amazing Grace Equine Sanctuary, June Vollrath Park, the Village Beach, Road America, Veterans Memorial Park, and private homes in need of yard assistance.
We are grateful to the students, staff, community partners, and volunteers who came together to care for the places and people that make our community special.

Sometimes the smallest positive action can make a meaningful difference.
A compliment to a stranger. A note to someone you have not spoken with in a while. A quick check-in, an encouraging word, or a simple act of generosity. These moments may seem small, but they can bring hope, connection, and joy when someone needs it most.
At ElkhartCares, our neighbors-helping-neighbors approach is rooted in that same idea: caring actions, big or small, can help strengthen our community and offer assistance to local students, families, and neighbors facing challenges.

Students who benefited from the ElkhartCares Wellness Grant this past year shared their thoughts and gratitude:

“The most beneficial part of yoga was knowing that I had a time to relax and calm my mind and body during the school day.”

“Yoga focused more on bettering ourselves and our minds rather than physically demanding activities. By focusing on breathing and thoughtfully moving through the sequences.”

“I learned from our Instructor how important stretching was and not to push your body too far.”

“It was great to have a break from school work during the day. It allowed me to move my body while also relaxing my mind which helped me throughout the day.”

“It didn’t just help me physically but mentally as well. We did different types of yoga where we moved our body different every time whereas in gym classes it is almost the same intensity and more competition.”

“The instructor helped me understand the practice rather than just doing it. We learned the mental aspect as well as the physical which made the practice feel whole. Having an instructor there also helped make sure we were doing the poses correctly so we got the full benefit of yoga.”

If you are interested in supporting this initiative as well as others, please consider making a tax-deductible donation at https://ow.ly/qCfB50ZvQWq or through the link in our bio. Thanks to a generous grant covering administrative costs, all proceeds go to helping neighbors in need.

Even on hard days, hope can begin with one opportunity, one encouraging person, or one bit of support that helps someone keep moving forward. ❤️
At ElkhartCares, we believe students and adults in the Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah community deserve opportunities to grow, learn, and build a more secure future.
Recently, ElkhartCares provided a scholarship for a high school student to attend a summer college biology program through UW–Madison. We also support individuals pursuing certifications, technical training, and degrees that can help them advance their careers and create new possibilities for themselves and their families.
Your support helps turn encouragement into meaningful action—whether that means educational opportunities, practical assistance during a difficult season, or resources that help a neighbor move forward with confidence.

ElkhartCares is proud to share an update from Technical School Scholarship recipient Rylee Dippel. ❤️
Since receiving her ElkhartCares scholarship, Rylee has graduated with her Associate Degree in Welding and begun a full-time career in manufacturing. She is currently working at M-B Companies in Chilton, Wisconsin, where she specializes in heavy fabrication and helps weld structural components for commercial snowplows and truck cabs.
Rylee’s journey is a powerful example of what can happen when local students are given the support and opportunity to pursue their goals. We are so proud of her hard work, her commitment to her community, and the ambitious future she is building.
Rylee shared this update with the ElkhartCares Board:
“I am writing to express my deepest gratitude to ElkhartCares and to provide an update on my professional journey since receiving your generous support. I am proud to share that this past December, I successfully achieved a major milestone by graduating with my Associate Degree in Welding.
The transition from the classroom to the workforce has been incredibly rewarding. The deep technical foundation and advanced training I received through my degree program have opened doors for immediate, impactful employment.
Since graduation, I have stepped directly into the manufacturing sector and am currently working full-time at M-B Companies in Chilton, Wisconsin. In this role, I specialize in heavy fabrication, welding the structural components for commercial snowplows and truck cabs. Applying the advanced technical skills, safety protocols, and weld processes I learned in school to real-world heavy equipment production has been an invaluable experience.
To build up to this point and broaden my industrial skill set, I previously worked part-time at local gravel pits. That experience allowed me to gain vital, hands-on knowledge operating heavy machinery, giving me a well-rounded understanding of the heavy equipment and industries that rely on structural welding.
Currently, alongside my full-time welding career, I also work part-time bartending at two local establishments. Balancing these roles has kept me highly driven, grounded, and deeply connected to the people in my community.
Beyond my professional pursuits, I believe firmly in giving back to the community that supports me. Recently, I have taken the personal initiative to volunteer and participate in local fundraisers dedicated to supporting our first responders. Standing alongside our local emergency services and helping raise funds for the individuals who keep our communities safe has been a profoundly meaningful way to spend my time.
While I am thoroughly enjoying my current work in heavy fabrication, my ultimate career vision involves pushing the boundaries of what a traditional welding career looks like. Armed with my associate degree, my long-term goal is to transition into the highly specialized field of commercial underwater welding.
To achieve this, I am currently planning my next major milestones: earning my professional scuba diving certifications and obtaining my pilot’s license. By mastering commercial diving and aviation, I intend to build a life centered on travel, technical expertise, and global exploration—taking my trade to unique, challenging environments around the world.
None of these milestones would have been possible without the belief and financial investment of ElkhartCares. Receiving this scholarship took an immense financial weight off my shoulders during my college program. It allowed me to focus entirely on my rigorous coursework, perfect my hands-on welding techniques, and graduate on time and with confidence.
Your support did not just help fund my education; it fueled the launch of a lifelong career and gave me the stability needed to pursue my highest aspirations. Thank you to the entire ElkhartCares Board and donors for cheering me on and helping me build this foundation.
With sincere gratitude,
Rylee Dippel”
Congratulations, Rylee. We are grateful to be part of your journey and cannot wait to see where your future takes you.
