We’re excited to be featured in this month’s Depot Dispatch highlighting an ElkhartCares grant supporting local students attending a performance of Frozen Jr. during National Music Week. 🎶❄️

At ElkhartCares, we believe learning happens everywhere — through music, theater, field trips, books, mentorship, kindness, and community connection.

Through our grant programs and partnerships with the Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah School District and local library, ElkhartCares helps support:

ElkhartCares Celebrates National Music Week by Funding Student Trip to Frozen Jr. ✨

In celebration of National Music Week, ElkhartCares is proud to announce a grant supporting transportation costs for 1st through 3rd grade students to attend a performance of Frozen Jr.

This grant will cover the cost of bus transportation, making it possible for young students to experience live theater while also cheering on classmates who have worked hard to bring the production to life on stage.

In the grant application, the teacher shared that this trip offers much more than a fun outing. It gives students the chance to see how lessons from music and reading come alive in a real performance setting while also celebrating the talents and dedication of their peers.

“Our mission is to grow as a community by supporting each other’s talents,” the teacher wrote. “We believe that learning happens everywhere—not just at a desk—and we want to see how the lessons we learn in music and reading come to life on a real stage.”

The teacher also shared that students have been practicing kindness and teamwork throughout the school year, and that supporting peers who spent weeks rehearsing for the musical after school helps build a culture where children celebrate one another’s success.

ElkhartCares was especially honored to support this request during National Music Week, a time to celebrate the role music and the arts in education and community life. Through grants like this, ElkhartCares helps create opportunities that inspire creativity, connection, and hope in the Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah community.

🎓 Scholarship Announcement 🎓
Thanks to the generosity of our donors, ElkhartCares is proud to support Scholarship Recipient Evelyn Loeffler in attending the Badger Summer Scholars Program at the University of Wisconsin–Madison.
This July, Evelyn will participate in BioFrontiers: Exploring the Life Sciences Spectrum, gaining hands-on experience in genetics, molecular biology, ecology, and medical research — all while living and learning on the UW–Madison campus.
Opportunities like this empower students to explore future careers, experience college-level academics, and connect with peers who share their passion for learning.
