Caddie is one of our forever fosters. We are delighted to see her thriving with Rita!

Good afternoon from our family forever foster Miss Caddie from Golden Retriever Rescue of Southwest Florida. Fostering is so important as you would be saving a life and allowing rescues to take another dog! Please consider fostering through them or Packin In The Pawz Dog Rescue

We can't help ourselves. GoldenFest XVI is coming soon and we are so excited. We want every dog lover in Southwest Florida to join us for the best doggone day of the year. Mark your calendars. You don't want to miss it.

All well-mannered, leashed dogs welcome.

Rescue work can be heartbreaking and challenging, so we're always grateful when we can work with rescue partners to help dogs in need. Say hello to 5-year-old Ariel, a breeder mom who got dropped at another rescue last night and is already on her way to one of our foster homes. We know very little about this girl except that she is sweet, scared and good with other dogs. So grateful to Sherri of Rescued Hearts for reaching out, to our team for swift action in finding a place for her, and to Stephanie for devoting her morning to helping yet another dog in need. Please join us in wishing Ariel happier days ahead as she learns to become a beloved family member instead of a breeding machine. She had her final litter two months ago. She joins us as part of our Golden Years program for retired breeding dogs.

We had another great day at the Vanderbilt Farmers Market today as Hurricane Isaias went ashore well north and west of us here in Southwest Florida. We enjoyed a beautiful morning with so many of our friends and some absolutely gorgeous pups. Thanks to all who came by and just made our day.

💛 An update on Cooper, formerly Cosmo!

He's forever family adopted precious Cooper almost a year ago, and they couldn’t be happier. Everywhere they go, people comment on how gorgeous he is and can hardly believe he’s a rescue.

Cooper is such a chill, loving dog, and they love him so much. They truly feel that their beloved 14-year-old Golden, who passed away, sent Cooper to them. 🐾

Stories like this remind us why we do what we do. Thank you to Cooper’s family for giving him a loving home and for sharing this update with us!

The beautiful dogs just keep coming! We're taking applications for handsome 3 yo Ollie. This happy, friendly boy is good with dogs and kids and loves to swim! He weighs 70 # and is intact, but we will remedy that! Ollie is an easygoing, go with the flow sort of fellow who will fit in easily. He is mildly thunderphobic but not destructive. He would like a fenced yard and a family committed to working on his leash training as he hasn't done much of that. We adopt to families in southwest and central Florida. You can fill out an application by going to www.grrswf.org.
