It's so much more than a meal. ❤️
A recent Friday morning, one of our incredible Meals on Wheels of the Palm Beaches volunteers arrived to deliver a meal and heard a client faintly calling for help from inside her home—barely audible over the sound of a nearby lawn mower. Trusting her instincts, she immediately called 911 and remained with the situation while sheriff's deputies forced entry into the home.
Our client had fallen at 3:00 a.m., suffered a broken femur, and had been lying on the floor for hours. She is now recovering in rehab and recently shared, "Thank God it was a delivery day."
When we contacted her out-of-state family, they simply said, "You may have saved her life." Had our volunteer not arrived that Friday morning, no one may have known she needed help until the next scheduled delivery on Monday.
When we shared those words with our volunteer, she smiled and said, "That's why we do what we do."
Every meal we deliver includes a wellness check, a caring connection, and the reassurance that someone is looking out for our seniors. To our amazing volunteers—thank you for making a difference every single day. Sometimes, that knock on the door truly saves a life. ❤️

This Fourth of July holiday week, we had fun preparing a classic summertime dinner for our seniors: hot dogs, baked beans, potato salad, cheesecake with blueberries and festive red, white & blue sugar cookies. Delivered along with American Flags - the spirits were high and the smiles were wide!

Here’s to the generations who built, defended, and cherished the freedoms that make this nation exceptional.

Hurricane season is here and preparedness matters. 💙 In partnership with FPL, we distributed hurricane preparedness kits to homebound seniors and veterans in Palm Beach County. Together, we’re helping ensure they have four days of shelf-stable food, water and snacks when it matters most.

At Meals on Wheels of the Palm Beaches,
our volunteers are the heart of everything we do. 💙

As a small token of appreciation for their time, compassion, and dedication to serving homebound seniors and veterans throughout Palm Beach County, each volunteer received a reusable cooler bag to take with them on future deliveries and everyday adventures.

We are so grateful for the kindness, smiles, and care our volunteers bring to every route and every client they serve. Together, we are delivering so much more than a meal.

A favorite is on the menu tomorrow! 🌯🌯🌯 Because sometimes the smallest comforts bring the biggest smiles. We love feedback from our clients, and responses to our "satisfaction & requests" survey - said more subs when it's warm again!
