Maine District 6 expresses our condolences to the family of Jaimie Erskine and asks baseball and softball families in southern Maine to join us in remembering his unrivaled contributions to the game. Jaimie Erskine was a long-time Little League volunteer umpire and district treasurer. He started umpiring with Cape Elizabeth Little League and served as their Umpire in Chief. His decades-long commitment to the game resulted in umpire assignments to the East Regional Softball Tournament at Bristol, CT in 2013 and the Little League Softball World Series at Portland, Oregon. He continued to umpire at district and state tournaments and participated at Falmouth and South Portland fields. He and his family often hosted year end umpire gatherings at his home. His love of the game fostered the growth of many current District 6 umpires and players. He was an example of strength and commitment that we should all honor through continued, selfless support (like Jaimie's) of Little League and the kids who play ball.
