ALUMNI "SNOW" STATUE CONTEST
Looking for something to do with friends and family this winter? You can bring this Tech tradition home with you!

NO Snow? NO Problem
Choose from 24-hr or multi-day options:
1. Classic statue out of snow
2. Other materials (sand, clay, wood, legos, metal, plastic)
3. Virtual statue (drawings, animation, audio)

Teams must include at least one Michigan Tech alumni. An alumnus is anyone who has completed one or more semesters at MTU.

Entries must be submitted by midnight January 31, 2022, with the winners announced on February 10, 2022.

Huskies Cheer on the Michigan Tech Hockey Team from Every Corner of the Nation!

Would the alumni in your area love to watch a live MTU hockey game? Thanks to FloHockey.com, it is possible to cheer on the Huskies without traveling back to the Upper Peninsula. There are 11 games available in January and February 2022. Each game will be given to just one chapter or area. All that is needed to claim a matchup is an event host and a venue with television(s) that can stream the game. Some venues might require that the host provide a laptop and an HDMI cable.

There is no fee for access to the game. A username and password will be provided for the event. If possible, the venue should have food and beverages either provided or available for purchase.

This opportunity is only available to events that are open to all the alumni in the area. If you are interested in requesting a game, please provide the following information.
Name of the Host
Address of Venue, and
Date of Game Requested (if more than one, put in order of preference)

The deadline to request a game is Friday, December 3, 2021. Please send your request to Kari Price at [email protected]. Requests will be given priority in the order received. Once a game is awarded, the host will be notified. I will email an invitation to all the alumni within a 20-30 mile radius of the venue. Events might have a limit on tickets due to the venue’s capacity.

Hey Boston Huskies!

We just found out the Husky Hockey game will be televised this weekend!

Michigan Tech will host unanimous WCHA favorite, Minnesota, this
weekend at the John MacInnes Student Ice Arena in an important,
early-season league series. Both teams are coming off impressive
nonconference wins last Saturday and will clash for the first time
since they split a series in Minneapolis last December.

Games start at 7:07 p.m. EST, both Friday, Oct. 19, and Saturday, Oct. 20.

Both games will be televised live on Fox Sports North. The Score
Television Network in Canada will carry Saturday's game live with a replay Sunday morning at 10 a.m.

Is there any interest in meeting up at a local pub to watch the game?

And on that note, any idea if any local pub would actually carry one of these channels? (Looking for some sports enthusiasts to weigh on in that question!)
