RE: BlueSkies! Softball Tournament Weather, Air Quality Update & Schedule July 31-Aug. 1

Clear, blue skies are prevailing! 🙏🥎🙏 This weekend’s softball tournament is moving forward on schedule.

Plan on high temperatures in the 90s so bring lots of water, pop-up canopies, camp chairs, etc., but praise God the wind came in last night and the smoke has cleared. Not saying we won’t have any, but it is way, way better than the Treasure and Magic Valleys’ air quality.

The Wood River Valley has not had the same struggles as the Treasure and Magic Valleys over the past couple of weeks, but we were keeping a very close eye on their air quality because they did have some smoke that moved in Monday evening.

Again, we are a GO!!! and super excited to see everyone this weekend! Watch for more updates.

Basic tournament schedule:

Friday:
3:30pm Nelson Fields open for practice
5pm Coaches/Team Captains Mtng.
5:30pm Games begin
7:30pmish Potluck BBQ hosted by Hailey Fire Dept. (depending on when games end) *Bring side, salad, or dessert to share & your own beverages. Meat, buns, condiments, plates, napkins, cutlery provided.

Saturday:
8:30am opening ceremonies (Presentation of Colors, National Anthem, Pledge of Allegiance, opening remarks)

8:45am Coaches/Team Captains Mtng.
9am Let’s play ball!!!
Midday: Home Run Derby
*Games continue in a double elimination bracket format & should be over in the early evening at latest

*FREE community event! Food & drink trucks, raffles, 50/50 raffle, family fun games, etc.

Thanks everyone for your patience with all of this and your support!

USA Speaking Tour comes to the Treasure Valley! July 22, 23, & 25. PTSD, Invisible Wounds, Sacrifice, the Battle Within,...

USA Speaking Tour comes to the Treasure Valley! July 22, 23, & 25. PTSD, Invisible Wounds, Sacrifice, the Battle Within, the Struggle No-one Wants to Talk About …

Come hear how one of Idaho’s homegrown young men sacrificed so much & how his life has inspired a movement that aims to change how an entire nation cares for their warriors that return from battle.

FREE event (Donations accepted on behalf of the ‘Josh Boone Ranch’ specifically being built to care for soldiers still battling the inner scars of war).

Josh Boone was an All-American boy with a family legacy of service, both in the military & Idaho law enforcement community. He grew up with a desire and calling to serve & protect others, a desire to preserve freedom.

He was raised with deep roots connected to the Jewish community here in Idaho, as well as a love & deep desire to serve in protection of the Israeli people. Josh had personally experienced antisemitic bullying right here in Idaho due to his Jewish heritage.

On October 7th, Josh was one of the first soldiers to respond to the horrific, brutal & unimaginable tragedy that unfolded on that fateful morning in Israel. That moment changed a nation, a world & the trajectory of his life.

Josh‘s love & passion to protect & serve only grew deeper. He dedicated the rest of his life in service. He became the longest, continuously serving reservist in Israel’s history, & became known to many as the ‘Chris Kyle’ of Israel, earning high honors in battle. Upon his death, thousands showed up in support, to show their gratitude & love for this young man.

However, the hard truth is, Josh never received the care he needed for the invisible battle within. Now through his legacy, through the vision of the ‘Josh Boone Ranch,’ other soldiers will find hope again. They will receive the treatment, & the resources they need to not only survive, but to claim their lives back.
