SCV Headquarters staff will return tomorrow and work on-site from 10am to 3pm Wednesday. We will assess the property and hopefully reopen to the public on Thursday. Some secondary roads around the museum are still icy, so not all staff will be available to report to work, but we are doing all that we can to make sure guests can experience The National Confederate Museum.

Today’s photo was taken of the museum and Historic Elm Springs, along with our herd of deer, by Eric Previti.

Today, we celebrate the birth of Gen. Robert E. Lee, born on this date in 1807.

Among the items at the museum is this monument, originally erected in Alabama in 1908 and relocated to Montgomery’s Robert E. Lee High School where it stood until 2020. The monument was recently restored by the Robert E. Lee SCV Camp 16 and placed on loan at the National Confederate Museum for display.
