A nonprofit organization, Alchemia supports artists with intellectual and developmental disabilities to share their voices through the visual, performing, and creative arts.

We’re excited to share that 70+ pieces by Alchemia artists are on display at the Sonoma County Fair! We couldn’t be prouder to champion the artists we serve and create opportunities for their work to be seen, celebrated, and recognized in our local community.

Guess where you'll find Alchemia artists tonight? On stage at 6th Street Playhouse!!
Several members of our Vocal Alchemy choir are performing as part of a community choir in 6th St Studio Teen Players' outdoor production of As You Like It, Shaina Taub's musical take on Shakespeare's ultimate rom-com.

Here they are at rehearsal! Each performance features a rotating choir of community members, and we are honored to be invited!

Happy Disability Pride Month from Alchemia!

Did you know that July is National Disability Pride Month? It celebrates the anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). It is also a time to celebrate disability, honor identity, increase visibility, and promote inclusion for everyone.

Congratulations to our talented Alchemia artists who were recognized at this year's Marin County Fair! James Dushkind earned both a First and a Second Place award, while Herson Castro and Sarah Huynh each received Honorable Mention honors. We're incredibly proud of these artists and all who submitted their work.

Congratulations to Alchemia artists Ashlyn Bonfante, Amy Chun, Sarah Huynh, Jaryd Kalb, and Zachary Weil, whose work is featured in On the Map at Artist Within - A Cedars Gallery. We are honored to see their artistic voices represented in this beautiful exhibition alongside so many talented artists.

Our heartfelt thanks to the Cedars team for curating such a thoughtful and inspiring show, and for creating meaningful opportunities for artists with disabilities to share their work. On the Map is on view through August 28.

Yesterday was a great day as we reopened the Alchemia Gallery to artists and the public!

After a fire in the rear alley last December caused damage to the gallery’s exterior and smoke damage inside, it was wonderful to again welcome artists and the public back into the space.

Thank you to our partners at Rebuilding Together Petaluma, our supportive neighbors, and everyone who helped make this moment possible. Most of all, thank you to our incredible artists and staff.

This reopening is just the beginning. We'll be celebrating with a community Grand Opening later this summer. Stay tuned!

Alchemia artists have been bringing it all week at our Spring Open Houses, sharing their performances and artwork with families, friends and community. We couldn't be prouder. We have one more performance showcase left at our Novato location tomorrow!

Check out some of our favorite memories of Dance Alchemy performing at the annual Inclusion Festival! Even though the festival is taking a breather in 2026, we’re still finding ways to dance together.
We’ve been invited to perform at their alternative event, Fest Forward! It’s a volunteer appreciation and recruitment event happening this Saturday, 5/9, at the Petaluma Community Center. We're so happy to help our friends at Inclusive Compass spread the word and keep the Inclusion Festival spirit alive.

Today, our Novato artists got a surprise sneak peek of something we’ve been working on behind the scenes… and now we’re excited to share it with our whole community. We’ve purchased a new home for our Novato program!

This space represents so much possibility. More room to create, to connect, and to grow together as a community of artists. Seeing Alchemia artists experience it for the first time today made it all feel real.

We’re just getting started. Stay tuned for ways you can support us as we prepare to open the doors and bring this space fully to life.
