⚾️Longer post than normal...but we have so much to share!! Worth the read! 🧡
⚾️🎉With tryouts coming up this week for the 2027 season our board has had some time to reflect and discuss, and has some new things we would like to share with you, as well as some additional insight as to how our organization operates!
💙One of the biggest changes heading into this season is that we have more than doubled the size of our Board of Directors!! By bringing more people, perspectives, and experience to the table, we can better ensure that every aspect of the ECB experience from our players, coaches, teams, and families all receives the attention it deserves.
🧡Eau Claire Baseball is still a young organization. We are entering just our sixth year, and we're proud of how far we've come, but we're even more excited about where we're going.
We know there will always be opportunities to improve. Our commitment is to recognize them, listen to our families, and continue making ECB better year after year.
💙It’s About More Than Championships
All of the championships and World Series runs our teams have earned are things we are incredibly proud of. But they aren't what define Eau Claire Baseball.
We aren't trying to be the flashiest academy or an organization where success is measured solely by how many rings or trophies are collected.
Our purpose is bigger than that.
🧡At ECB, we want to help young athletes:
-Develop their baseball skills and reach their potential.
-Build a genuine love and respect for the game.
-Learn what it means to be a great teammate.
-Compete hard while demonstrating sportsmanship and character.
-Learn how to handle both success and adversity.
-Grow as young people, not simply as baseball players.
At these ages, development matters. The experiences, lessons, friendships, and memories players gain through baseball can stay with them long after the final out.
💙Every Year Is a Fresh Start!
Another important part of the Eau Claire Baseball philosophy is simple: Every player earns their opportunity every year.
Being selected for an Orange or Blue team in a previous season does not guarantee that a player will be placed on that same team the following year. Players grow. Players develop at different rates. New players enter the program. And every season brings a new opportunity to compete and earn a roster spot.
That's why we believe each year should begin with a fresh and fair evaluation of every player.
We also don't make promises behind the scenes about who will make a particular team.
There are no guaranteed roster spots because of what happened last season. There are no guarantees based on who someone knows. And volunteering to coach does not guarantee that a coach's child will be placed on a particular team.
👉🏻In fact, ECB selects its coaches after player evaluations and team formation, allowing the player-selection process to stand on its own rather than building rosters around predetermined coaching assignments.
We believe that's important. It may not always be the easiest way to operate a travel baseball program, but we believe it's the right way.
Players should earn their opportunities based on their own abilities, development, effort, attitude, and evaluation. Not because of promises made before they ever step onto the field.
-That's part of respecting the evaluation process.
-It's part of respecting every player who has the courage to come to tryouts and compete for an opportunity.
-And ultimately, it's part of respecting the game of baseball.
🧡What We Want ECB to Stand For:
-We want Eau Claire Baseball to be a place where young athletes are challenged, encouraged, coached, and given opportunities to grow.
-A place where making an Orange team isn't the only definition of success.
-A place where a player on a Blue team receives meaningful development and an opportunity to continue earning more.
-A place where coaches understand that their responsibility extends beyond wins and losses.
-And a place where families know that decisions are being made with the development of our players and the long-term health of Eau Claire Baseball at the center of them.
💙We won't claim we'll get every decision perfect. No youth sports organization can.
But we can promise that we'll continue working to improve, listening to our families, and making decisions based on what we believe is best for our players and the game.
🧡⚾️Whether you've been with ECB from the beginning or joined us more recently, thank you for being part of our story.
We're proud of what Eau Claire Baseball has accomplished in its first six years. But we're far more excited about what comes next.
💙Every new season is a fresh start. We hope your season starts with us!💙
