We are so grateful for all the help we received from our Friends of the Center, Park National Bank, and Genesis Healthcare System yesterday. We don’t have any say in the weather on Commodities distribution days, and it was certainly a hot one. Even in the heat, our volunteers worked hard and loaded boxes with no complaints.
Thank you for your dedication and hard work. We appreciate you more than you know!

It’s time for another game of Chair Volleyball on Friday, September 4 at 9:30 am!
We have just two rules:

Have fun!
Stay in your chair.

Let us chase the beach balls — we’ll be watching for “offenders” and handing out tickets after the game. It’s all in good fun, and it helps us recruit more volunteers to help serve lunch and scrape trays.
Join us for a fun game this Friday! 🎉

Commodities Distribution is from 10 am to 2 pm at the Muskingum County Fairgrounds for those enrolled in the program.

The first Friday of the month is Karaoke Night at the Center!
Pick your favorite songs to sing and bring your friends for a fun-filled evening.
We have over 55,000 song choices and multiple microphones ready for your performance!
Doors open at 5:00 p.m.
Singing is from 6:00–9:00 p.m.
Admission: $5 per person
Concessions will be available.
Come show off your talent and enjoy a great night out! 🎤✨

Our Nutrition Department has a full week of delicious meals ready for you!
Lunch is served at the Center weekdays from 11:00 a.m. to about 12:15 p.m.
No reservation is needed unless you plan to enjoy lunch at the Bonnie Longaberger Senior Center in Dresden.
If you can’t join us in person, you can reserve a Grab & Go meal by calling (740) 454-9761 at least one day in advance. Pickup is available between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
Anyone 60 & better can enjoy lunch with a suggested donation of $3.
For those under 60, the required cost is $5.50.

We love celebrating birthdays at the Center!
The last Wednesday of every month is Birthday Wednesday, when we recognize all of our Friends with birthdays that month.
This week, we celebrated our August birthdays, and it was such a joyful day!
A special thank you to our friends at Kroger for donating beautiful flowers for all of our birthday celebrants.
We also enjoyed wonderful lunchtime music by Bob & Friends, making the celebration even more special.
It was truly a wonderful day! 🎉💐

We have a full week of activities planned at the Center as we welcome the month of September!
Here are a few highlights in addition to our regularly scheduled programs:
• Commodities Distribution is from 10:00 a.m.–2:00 p.m. at the Muskingum County Fairgrounds for those enrolled in the program.
• No Kenpo Karate on Monday, August 31. It was listed in the Community Connection.
• We will have an Ener-Chi video at 2:00 p.m. and a Chair Yoga video at 3:00 p.m. on Monday.
• On Tuesday, the Center will open at 8:30 a.m. after our monthly all-staff meeting.
• It’s not too late to join the Stay Active and Thrive class at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday with Alexus from the OSU Extension Office.
• For those who signed up, we’re heading to The Wilds at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday for an open-air safari tour.
• We will not have an Alzheimer’s Representative on Wednesday.
• For anyone signed up for our Curly Girl Farms outing, we will meet at the South River Road location at 10:00 a.m.
• Button Club meets at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday.
• PERI meets at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday.
• We kick off Football Fridays on September 4! Wear your favorite team colors and show your spirit.
• Megyn returns for Cardio Drumming on Friday at 1:00 p.m.
• Karaoke Night is Friday at 6:00 p.m. Doors open at 5:00 p.m. Admission is $5.

Join us for a “Cut Your Own Bouquet” event at Curly Girl Farm on Thursday, September 3 at 10:00 am!
Stroll through rows of beautiful flowers at 2444 South River Road in Zanesville and create your own custom bouquet. If you have a favorite vase or vessel, feel free to bring it along, or choose from a selection of jars and vases provided.
Please keep in mind:
• Flowers may attract bees—if you are allergic, please take caution.
• This is a working farm, so wear sensible shoes. You may get dirty.
• The event can continue in light rain; please dress for the weather.
• In the event of a storm, the event will be canceled and refunds will be issued.
• Parking is limited.
• The event is limited to 20 participants.
• Cost is $25 per person.
Visit the Center to register and make your lunch selection from a limited Walk menu. Deadline for registration is Monday, August 31.
