This Jan. 31st will be our first public fundraiser! We have a lot of programs and initiatives operating on a regular basis, but art is at the heart of our organizing and reaching out to help us get supplies for the various projects and programs that we have this year! Trying to raise 10k to give us a head start with all the work ahead of us this year! Thank you, if not monetary donations, please bring supplies that you may have that you can donate!

Jump-starting the Orange County District 7 People’s Assembly next month, we’ll be having an in-person meeting on the third Saturday of each month in a different area within the district. Going to be in Eatonville in January, Maitland in February and Mercy Drive in March, to start the year.

People in office or running to be in office, we can understand why you might want to be in this kind of space, but the space is not being curated for you. We want to encourage residents of this new district to make and take up the space

Reposting cause our last post got cropped in a funny way:

For the past three months we’ve been sharpening our outreach skills with an on-the-ground campaign that we call The Street Assembly. At least three days a week, we’ve been street canvassing, doing surveys, passing out flyers and zines and knocking on doors. And on Saturdays we’ve been doing field training and community-based education. 2026 will be about Base-building and community-centered solutions. Investing in relational organizing and the tools we’ve cultivated to continue to build on the traditions of resistance that have given us the opportunities to thrive and build stronger communities

It’s been a little over the month and the year has not slowed down for us to fully appreciate this, but y’all we won.

Almost gave in to the idea that what we thought and cared about didn’t matter, but instead locked in with our community and organized. A small win on the long list of battles facing all of our communities right now, but a win worth acknowledging and celebrating. When we organize, when we fight, we win. Not only did we go toe to toe with established powers but we stayed principled in our approach of being people first. We work on a daily basis to create new opportunities for our community and now we’ve literally put our community on the map. All of Pine Hills will be in the same district for the first time in Orange County history and representation for all of Orange County’s 1.5+ million residents will be closer to the reflection of reality than before

Not possible without the support of community members and organizations all across Orange County, (excuse us for the ones that we miss) and etc.

We’d like to Thank Commissioner Scott , Maribel-Gomez , Wilson , Semrad .d5 , and Mayor Demings for hearing our communities and responding in-kind. Some of these commissioners voted against their own political interests in some instances to respond to the support of community members who wanted to see an equitable future for Orange County. We appreciate it and look forward to the work of bringing our communities together to continue to advocate for everyone.
