Osterville Village Library is OPEN today, Wednesday, February 25, 2026 from 9AM-5PM.

Come in and warm up, pick up a book to pass your snow day and grab a free cup of coffee until noon.

🔌🏢 Center for Active Living Opening as Warming Center on 2/25🏢🔋

The Center for Active Living (70 Quaker Meetinghouse Road) will open tomorrow, 2/25 at 9:00 AM as a Warming Center for residents impacted by power outages.

🕘 Hours: 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM

This opening is strictly for:
• Warming needs
• Charging phones and essential devices

Please note:
❗ The facility is not open for recreational programming or general activities at this time. No pets are allowed.

Here are some tips to stay warm during these colder months:

Layer Up: Wear a moisture-wicking base layer, a insulating mid-layer (fleece/wool), and a wind/waterproof outer layer.

Cover Extremities: Wear warm hats, scarves, and gloves, as significant heat is lost through hands and feet.Protect Extremities: Wear warm hats, scarves, and gloves, as significant heat is lost through hands and feet.

Seal Drafts: Block cold air from entering under doors with towels or draft stoppers.

Use Heat Wisely: Set thermostats to 64-70°F (18-21°C) and heat only the rooms you are using.

Six years ago today, three tornadoes ripped across Cape Cod — a rare and jarring reminder that even our coastal community is not immune to disaster.

On July 23, 2019, EF-1 tornadoes touched down from Sandwich to Chatham, tearing roofs off motels, downing trees and power lines, and leaving 50,000+ without power.

At MCRF, we work year-round to prepare for the next crisis, whatever form it takes — storms, flooding, or emergencies we can’t yet imagine. Because when disaster strikes, Cape Cod deserves a rapid, local response.
