wish everyone could experience just how beautiful a shelter can be when we start thinking about what these animals need to truly live, not just survive. Friendship, freedom, comfort, laughter, peaceful evenings, and someone who tells them 800 times a day just how much they are loved. They may not have their forever families yet, but that doesn't mean they should have to wait for the beautiful little moments that make life worth living.

And as we tuck everyone in tonight, I just feel so grateful. Grateful to God for another day together, grateful for these precious lives that teach us so much about love, and grateful for every one of you who helps us make this possible. Goodnight, my sweet friends. I love you, and God willing, I'll see you in the morning.

Some of the greatest loves of our lives are the very dogs someone else decided they didn't want anymore. And whether we have 10 years, 10 months, or just 10 more days together, we are going to love them with everything we have.

I think about that a lot when I look around our shelter. The old ones, the brokenhearted ones, the ones who were abandoned, the ones who aren't always easy, and the ones who have spent far too much of their lives waiting for someone to see how special they are. They don't know how much time they have left, and neither do we. But what a beautiful gift it is to get to be part of their lives, even if only for a little while.

And that is why I believe rescue has to be about so much more than saving a life. It's abIout giving them a life worth living. Letting them have friends, adventures, sunshine, soft beds, silly moments, and 800 reminders a day that they are loved. We cannot change everything that happened before they came to us, and we cannot promise how many tomorrows we will have together. But we can make sure that today, right here, they know they matter.

We may never be a perfect shelter, but goodness, we are going to keep trying to love them as perfectly as they love us. And with God's grace and all of you beside us, I hope we can keep showing the world that the dogs others have given up on are still worthy of the most beautiful lives we can give them. For however long we are blessed to have them.

I think sometimes people forget that shelter dogs deserve to actually LIVE while they are waiting for their forever homes. They deserve silly moments, friendships, adventures, peaceful nights, and people who love them like they are already home. They deserve to hear good morning, I love you, and goodnight, I'll see you tomorrow, every single day. Because their lives are happening right now, not just when someone finally adopts them.
We may not be a perfect shelter, but goodness, we love these dogs, and they love us right back. And with every ordinary day, every silly bedtime routine, and every extra cuddle, I hope we are showing the world what rescue can look like when we make love and quality of life just as important as saving lives. This is Rescue Reimagined.

Well, apparently the dogs did not get the memo that it is bedtime! Some are still playing, some need one more cuddle, and others have decided this is the perfect time to get their second wind. And honestly, I love every silly minute of it.

Because bedtime around here is not about making everyone fit into some perfect routine. It is about loving them exactly as they are, making sure they are safe and comfortable, and reminding every single one of them that they matter. Whether they are ready for bed or not, everyone deserves to hear goodnight, I love you, and I will see you tomorrow. This is Rescue Reimagined.

Happy Hump Day from Gemma and the Fantastic Beasts litter!! I’ve been busy all day so I haven’t gotten to sit down with everyone since this morning!! Good news is they did fine without me. 🤣🤣

Born 9/21/26 and will be ready for furever homes in about 6 weeks! Gemma will also be ready for her furever home. She was spayed during the c-section so she’s good to go when she’s done being a mom. No adoption fees—we operate solely on donations. A donation at the time of adoption is appreciated to help with costs but not required. We go live every night at 7:30pm central. Tune in and watch these babies grow up!
