🎃💔 HALLOWEEN PARTY UPDATE — TONIGHT'S FESTIVITIES ARE CANCELED 💔🎃

It is with a very heavy heart that we have to announce that tonight's Catawba Community Halloween Party festivities have been canceled due to the weather. 🌧️

We were really hoping the weather would cooperate, but unfortunately, Mother Nature has other plans for us.

Jim and I put so much time, work, and love into this event every year because we truly enjoy bringing our community together and seeing all those smiling faces, especially the kids. ❤️

We are so sorry to everyone who was looking forward to coming out tonight. Believe us, we are just as disappointed as you are!

A huge thank you to everyone who came out, helped, volunteered, donated, and supported us. We couldn't do any of this without the wonderful people in our community.

We're going to miss seeing everybody tonight, but don't worry…

🎃👻 THE CATAWBA COMMUNITY HALLOWEEN PARTY IS BACK! 👻🎃

It’s that time of year again! Jim and I are excited to invite our friends, neighbors, and community out for another Catawba Community Halloween Party!

📅 October 9 & 10
⏰ 5:30PM – 9:30 PM
📍 4731 Cureton Ferry Road, Catawba, SC 29704

We’ve been doing this Halloween party for years, and every year it seems to get a little bigger, a little crazier, and a whole lot more fun. ❤️

This is a FREE, family-friendly community event, and we have a lot planned!

🎨 Face painting
👕 T-shirt painting
🫧 Bubble area
🧪 Slime making
🌽 Corn pit
🚜 Hayrides
🍭 Treats and goodies
🍽️ Food & desserts
🐷 Animal feeding
🎃 Halloween fun throughout the property
…and plenty more!

Costumes are welcomed! 👻🧙‍♀️🦸‍♂️🧛

Our goal has always been pretty simple: give families in our community a safe, fun place to come together, let the kids have an amazing time, and make some good memories.

There is no admission charge. We want families to be able to come out and enjoy themselves without worrying about the cost.

❤️ WE COULD ALSO USE SOME COMMUNITY HELP!

Putting this together takes a small army. If you’d like to volunteer for a couple of hours—helping with an activity, food, parking, setup, cleanup, or just keeping things running—we would LOVE to have you.

You don’t have to volunteer all night. Even an hour or two makes a huge difference.

Most importantly, please share this post! Tag your neighbors, tell your friends, bring the kids, bring the grandparents, and come spend Halloween with us.

We put a lot of work and love into this every year, and seeing the kids running around having the time of their lives makes every bit of it worth it.

🔎 WHERE’S CHEEKS? 🔎

We have our own version of “Where’s Waldo?” here at Catawba Junction Wildlife… except ours has whiskers, a pink nose, and a habit of disappearing into the laundry. 😂

Meet Cheeks—full government name, **Princess Sweetcheeks**. 👑 And yes, she absolutely expects to be treated like royalty!

She lost most of her tail and isn’t a good release candidate, so she has made her home here with us as an Educational Ambassador. And apparently, every cozy spot in the rescue belongs to her. ❤️

Mixed in with the stuffed animals? Check.
Tucked into the laundry? Absolutely.
Buried in her very own box of washcloths? A favorite.

We never quite know where we’ll find her next, but we have figured out one thing: when food appears, Cheeks usually does too. Funny how that works. 🤣

Our goat herd was enjoying a peaceful retirement… then the new kids arrived. 🐐😂

We were given three wonderful goats, and along with one who joined us last year, they have brought a whole new level of chaos and mayhem to Catawba Junction Wildlife!

Most of our older goats are perfectly happy lounging in the sunshine, chewing their cud, and watching the world go by. These four? They have places to climb, trouble to find, and absolutely no time for anyone’s afternoon nap. 🤣

They are full of life, energy, and s***k. As for problem-solving skills… well, watch this sweet girl try to figure out that she isn’t actually stuck outside. 🤦‍♀️🐐

We love our peaceful seniors and our little troublemakers. These newcomers have brought so much joy and new life to the herd—and plenty of reasons for the rest of us to laugh. ❤️

🐷 **IS THIS THE UGLIEST PIG IN THE WORLD? We need your vote!**

Meet **Pork Chop**, our approximately 10-year-old resident grumpy old man at Catawba Junction Wildlife Rehab and Farm Animal Sanctuary. And before anyone asks—**he came with that name. We take no responsibility.** 😂

Pork Chop lives with the three little pigs in what was *supposed* to be our dog run. When we discovered he was blind, plans changed. We gave him a smaller, manageable space where he could learn his surroundings and wouldn’t have to walk so far. The dogs will have to take their complaints to management.

He has a face only a mother could love… and apparently, an entire sanctuary. ❤️ His hobbies include being grumpy, remaining grumpy, and making sure nobody mistakes him for cheerful.

**So, let’s settle this. Is Pork Chop the ugliest pig in the world?**

👑 **A:** Yes. Give this man his crown.
🥰 **B:** He’s so ugly he’s adorable!
🐽**C:** Absolutely not. That is a distinguished gentleman.
😂 **D:** I’m not judging him. He looks like he’s already judging me.

We can all live in harmony.

Did you know that Catawba Junction Wildlife is more than just wildlife? We are also a farm sanctuary and home to some very special permanent residents. 🐷🐐🫏🦚🐓🦆🐑

Our family currently includes pigs, goats, donkeys, peacocks, chickens, ducks, and a lamb… with possibly more joining us soon! 🪿

Every day, we are working to make the farm better for them. We don’t always get it perfect, but we are always trying—trying to make life more comfortable, more enriching, and more like the life they deserve.

Please enjoy this video. It’s a little long, but it gives you a glimpse into our nightly feeding routine and the love and care that goes into each evening here on the farm. ❤️ Keep an eye out for the cameo of our two little piglets learning how to make their way to the food trough with the big pigs—it’s too cute to miss!
