When someone has nowhere safe to sleep, that conversation matters.

Since 1983, HATAS’ Homeless Hotline has helped neighbors find shelter and support after hours, when many other doors are closed.

We listen and help people get the support they need. Behind each connection is a network of people working together to help a neighbor through a difficult night.

And it starts with someone answering the call.

Feed & Read is back!

But before the first bags were packed, volunteers from the New York State Division of Budget 's Goodwill Fund helped transform our warehouse’s Feed & Read room, making it brighter and ready for the work ahead.

For some children, the weekend means two days without school meals.

Every Friday, the HATAS Feed & Read program sends Albany students home with food for the weekend, fresh fruit, and a book to keep plus a card for milk and eggs every other week.

Last year, volunteers packed 10,650 bags - WOW.

Thank you to the Goodwill Fund team and all the volunteers who make this possible, week after week, all school year long. 🧡

Ready or not, colder nights are coming.
And we’re preparing for the neighbors who will need us.

For people sleeping outside, a safe place to get warm can save a life.

Behind the scenes, HATAS calls the Code Blue alerts, manages the hotline, and brings partners together.

From there, our dedicated partners make safety possible:
reaching neighbors in the cold, providing safe rides, and opening shelter doors.

It takes coordination. It takes care. It takes all of us.

Good things happen when a community gets in SYNC!

At recent events, that looked like backpacks for local children, free preventive health services, safe public spaces, hot coffee and snacks, and even a new mobile station where people could safely charge their phones.

It ALWAYS means helping neighbors connect with services, resources and support they may not have known were available.

We are recruiting service providers to participate in our SYNC Up! Resource Fair on Thursday, October 15, at the Capital City Rescue Mission. Interested? Message us!
