We sure wish we could read their minds to see if they realize yet that they are safe and loved and that everything will be OK. We want them to know that healing takes time but we'll give them all the time they need.

I can honestly say this was one of the most profound rescues I've participated in since beginning my rescue journey almost 18 years ago. We feel honored to be trusted with providing these four souls a peaceful place to begin their healing journey. They've adjusted incredibly well in the short time they've been with us. We promise to continue to provide updates on their progress. In the meantime I am still in awe of the teamwork and coordination it took to pull this off. If you are newer to our page, we don't allow ourselves to dwell in the past when it comes to our animals. No amount of anger or blame will change their previous situation. We let law enforcement and karma do their things. Our only goal is to make their next days their best days. So here's to the start of a new beginning ✨️

Friends of the farm. We know this video is beyond hard to watch. We almost couldn't believe what we were looking at when we first saw it. But now we can't look away and we know many of you won't be able to either. If you are able, please consider donating. Funds will be used to help get these mules to a loving home with the vet and farrier care they so desperately need.

We unknowingly made the duck pond a reality just in time for our newest little swimmers to enjoy 😍

It's amazing to watch them at just two days old. They took to it like, well...ducks to water.

Sometimes the words "thank you" don't feel like enough.

Today is one of those days. The sun was hot, temperatures were in the 80's, and not a bit of shade was available - but that didn't stop our volunteer crew from securing our 39 posts for Brooks and Sparky's new pasture! The panels are set to arrive on Wednesday and what a relief it is to be able to say "we're ready"!

So THANK YOU to our volunteers and THANK YOU to our donors for helping make this project a reality. And of course, THANK YOU to Ferris for holding the string in place for us 💕🐈

Operation "Free Brooks and Sparky" began last Sunday and continues through next week - but we need your help!

Let's start with the project name. Our boys are currently in a stall timeout as they discovered that their current fence is so weak from being patched so many times that it doesn't take much pressure to break another panel. So for their safety and everyone else's, they are confined to their stall.

As a result, our timline for building them a new space was accelerated and the sense of urgency increased. We also decided to just flip-flop them with the pigs as we don't have the time or funds to build the lean to in short order.

Last weekend we cleared the space and ordered the wood. We paid to have Davis Landscaping drill the holes this week. We also ordered the steel panels and the hardware. Now to begin assembling.

If you are around tomorrow (Saturday, June 6) and would be willing to help us secure the 6x6 and 4x4 posts into the ground, we plan to get started around 10:00am and will go until done.

The other aspect we still need help with is raising the remaining funds to pay for everything. We had a few amazing donors/supporters step up and front the funds to order the panels, but we are still short on the cost of the total project. Any leftover money raised will go towards funding a summer space for Barbie, Rosemary and Mildred as we had to separate them from the goats so Leila could safety join their flock. The goal is for them to return to their old space this fall once Leila is bigger.

We thank you in advance!

So...our call duck disappeared a month ago. We feared the worst. It turns out our worry was misguided - times five.

On a related note...we also learned that feral cat boxes make great places for call ducks to nest.

A little inspiration for the day...

May we all find as much joy in the good things in life as Lewie finds rubbing himself in goose p**p.
