Looking back on another wonderful summer at camp, we are especially grateful for the organizations that helped make these experiences possible. A huge thank you to The Westbrook Foundation for their continued generosity and support of local children and families. Their support made a meaningful difference this summer, helping families access the childcare and camp experiences they needed.

We had a great time at Deep River Day today!

The pond is one of the busiest and most loved places at Bushy Hill all summer long. And even now, there’s still plenty of activity happening along its edges.

The Joe-Pye W**d is still blooming, and the bees have been busy moving from flower to flower, collecting nectar and pollen.

Joe-Pye W**d is an important late-summer food source for butterflies, native bees, beneficial wasps, and flies. When the flowers fade, its seeds will provide food for birds through the fall and winter.

So, while summer camp may be over, the pond is still full of life. Take a minute to watch the bees at work.

Muddy hands, curious minds, and a summer full of discoveries.

From finding frogs and flowers to turning cardboard, leaves, seeds, and other treasures from the forest into a one-of-a-kind snake, there was always something to notice, explore, and create at Bushy Hill.

Still thinking about summer.

On the second-to-last day of camp, our youngest Saplings made the hike up to Lookout Point, and they were pretty proud of themselves when they made it to the top!

We love that there are so many places at Bushy Hill for kids to explore, climb, play, and discover. And we love even more that these are the kinds of adventures that become summer memories.

So many adventures. So many happy faces. So many good memories.

What a summer.

We’re grateful to the Community Foundation of Middlesex County for grant support that helped make Bushy Hill Day Camp more accessible to local children and families this summer.

Funding supported our camp scholarship program as well as summer youth camp activities, with additional support made possible by the generosity of the M. Jones Family Fund at the Community Foundation of Middlesex County.

Thank you to CFMC and its donors for helping more children spend their summers learning, exploring, building friendships, and connecting with the natural world.
