The public fishing pier on the Downtown West Monroe Riverfront is officially open!

Thank you to the West Monroe-West Ouachita Chamber of Commerce and community partners for attending today's ribbon cutting. This project would not have been possible without federal and state grant funding and the private contributions of those who donated to the Picture This Capital Campaign.

A special thank you to the Downtown West Monroe Revitalization Group for serving as the nonprofit organization to receive all private contributions for this project. The fishing pier is another step in the completion of the Downtown West Monroe Streetscape Master Plan. This project brings to life the public's wish to have greater access to the Ouachita River.

We hope you will join us on Thursday, August 28 at 10 a.m. for a ribbon cutting as we celebrate the long-awaited opening of the public fishing pier on the Downtown West Monroe riverfront.

Funds for this project were made possible through personal contributions to the Picture This Capital Campaign and a grant from Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries. We are excited to see this project come to fruition!

Spectacular fireworks show over the Ouachita River this weekend in celebration of Independence Day! We loved seeing so many people on the downtown marina enjoying the show.

The City of West Monroe and Discover Monroe-West Monroe recently announced the first-ever West Monroe Gar Rodeo and Boat & Outdoor Expo taking place over Labor Day weekend in West Monroe.

Proceeds from these events will benefit Downtown West Monroe projects.

Ouachita RiverFest is one month away from happening April 24-27 in Downtown West Monroe. Who's ready?!?!?

Ouachita RiverFest is just ONE MONTH away! Who's ready!?!?

This year's festival will span over four days on April 24-27 in Downtown West Monroe featuring live music, food vendors, artisans, Rubber Duck Drop in the Ouachita River on Saturday, April 26, live duck races and of course, the World's Largest Rubber Duck affectionately known as "Mama Duck!"

A schedule of events can be found at www.ouachitariverfest.com and will continue to be updated as we get closer to the festival. We can't wait to see everyone!
