Armenian EyeCare Project The mission of AECP is to eliminate preventable blindness in Armenia and make quality eye care accessible to all.

Celebrating World Sight Day — Bringing Quality Eye Care Closer to Communities!

To mark World Sight Day, the Armenian EyeCare Project organized an Open Doors event at the newly opened Artashat Diagnostic Eye Clinic, offering comprehensive eye examinations with state-of-the-art equipment, eyeglasses, and educational activities for residents of Artashat and surrounding communities.

AECP specialists worked alongside local physicians, discussing complex cases and ensuring quality patient care.

💙 In partnership with Alzheimer’s Care Armenia (ACA), our long-standing partner, we also brought older adults together for a special community gathering featuring vision screenings, eyeglasses, and interactive games emphasizing the importance of eye health. The day was filled with learning, laughter, and smiles!

Because good vision and access to quality eye care matter at every age!

Yesterday was World Sight Day, a global reminder of the importance of protecting eye health and the life-changing impact of quality vision care. At AECP, every day has been about protecting sight since the establishment of the organization in 1992.

This year's theme, "Love Your Eyes," is a powerful reminder that healthy vision is essential to learning, working, connecting with loved ones, and living a full life. It also calls on all of us to champion eye care that is accessible, inclusive, and community-driven, ensuring that no one is left behind, especially due to geographic or social constraints.

For more than three decades, AECP has worked to eliminate preventable blindness and expand access to quality eye care throughout Armenia. Through patient care, medical education, public awareness, training, and capacity-building programs, AECP remains committed to bringing sight-saving services to communities across the country.

As we reflect on the World Sight Day, we celebrate the patients whose lives have been transformed, the dedicated healthcare professionals who serve with compassion, and the supporters, donors and partners who make this mission possible. We thank everyone who has joined us on this journey and helped make sight-saving care possible for so many.

Protecting sight should not be limited to one day a year. Every day should be about loving our eyes, safeguarding vision, expanding access to care, and helping people see a brighter future.

Looking back at another meaningful day of last week’s AECP Medical Mission! 👁️🇦🇲

We opened AECP’s 16th facility in Armenia - the Artashat Diagnostic Eye Clinic. Equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment equipment, it brings quality eye care closer to residents of Artashat and surrounding communities.

That same day, our volunteer physicians visited clinics across Yerevan to deliver lectures, see patients, and exchange knowledge with Armenian colleagues.

Thanks to corneal tissue donated from the United States, our volunteer physicians and Armenian surgeons also performed several corneal transplants during the Mission, giving patients renewed hope for better vision.

❤️ Grateful to everyone who made these moments possible!
