🏆 GOOOOOOOOOAL! ⚽🌎
The World Cup is here! 48 teams. Dozens of languages. One perfect reminder that the world is a whole lot smaller than we think.
For a few weeks, we'll cheer for countries we've never visited, learn players' names we can't pronounce, and celebrate goals with people from all over the globe.
Now imagine bringing that experience home for an entire school year.
AYUSA is looking for local families to host international exchange students arriving this fall from countries around the world. These students come ready to share their culture, share their traditions, cheer for their favorite teams, and become part of your family.
⚽ You don't need to know anything about soccer.
⚽ You don't need a perfect home.
⚽ You don't need to have children at home.
You just need a spare bed, a welcoming heart, and room at the dinner table.
The connections made through hosting last far longer than any World Cup tournament. Many host families gain a son, daughter, brother, sister, or lifelong friend in another part of the world.
🌎 Host families can be:
✔ Married, single, divorced, or widowed
✔ Families with kids or without kids
✔ Empty nesters
✔ Rural, suburban, or small-town households

⚽️🌎 FIFA KICKS OFF TODAY.
For the next few weeks, millions of people will be cheering for countries they've never visited, players they've never met, and teams they'll never forget.
But what if this year, the world became more than something you watched on a screen?

What if it sat at your dinner table?

Right now, 15 soccer-loving exchange students from France, Germany, Turkey, Brazil, Spain, and Mexico are still waiting for a host family.

Imagine watching a match with a student from Brazil.
Hearing why soccer means so much in Spain.
Learning traditions from Germany, France, Turkey, or Mexico firsthand.

These students aren't just looking for a place to stay.
They're looking for a family to cheer with.
A family to laugh with.
A family to belong to.
And before you know it, you'll be cheering for them just as loudly as your favorite team.

Don't just bring the world to your TV. Bring it into your home.

I’ve been working with AYUSA since 2011, helping families welcome international high school exchange students into their homes, and I can honestly say it’s one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever been part of.

Every year, amazing students from around the world come to the U.S. hoping for the true American high school experience—football games, family dinners, holidays, friendships, and everyday life. What they need most is a caring host family. 🏡✨

💔Help Needed for Two Amazing Boys! 🇩🇪🇯🇵
We have a heartbreaking situation and truly need our community's help.

Tim from Germany and Kanata from Japan are confirmed to come to the U.S. this August. Their originally assigned host dad—who previously hosted Kanata’s older brother—unexpectedly passed away just a few weeks ago.

💬 These two boys are kind, active, and excited to be part of American life. They’ve waited patiently, and now we’re asking:
👉 Who can help us give them a home and a chance to move forward after this loss?

They just need a welcoming family—for a semester or the full school year. You don’t have to be “perfect,” just willing to share your home, heart, and culture.
