We were pleased to welcome Taylor Clark from the Harvest Food Grant to JFSCNJ today, joined by Aaron Turner, Chief Philanthropic Officer from the Community Foundation of New Jersey and Renie Carniol from the Carniol Family Fund.
Their visit highlighted the important work supported through this grant; coordinated case management for our food pantry clients, connecting individuals and families with additional services and resources available through JFSCNJ.
Our food pantry is about more than providing food. It is also a place where people can connect with support and services that can help address other needs and strengthen their overall well-being.
We are grateful to Taylor, Aaron, and Renie for their partnership and support of this important work in our community!

Coffee House Volunteers Needed!

Our Coffee House is a welcoming social day program where participants enjoy conversation, activities, friendship, and meaningful connections in a warm and supportive environment.

We are looking for friendly, caring volunteers at both of our Coffee House locations; however we have a special need for volunteers at our NEW JCC of Central NJ location beginning November 2.
Volunteers help welcome participants, join conversations and activities, and help create a fun and engaging day.
No special experience is needed - just a warm smile, a willingness to connect, and a little time to share.
Please contact Danielle McLeer at [email protected] or 908-352-8375 x238 if you’re interested or for more information.

Happy Simchat Torah from the Board and Staff of JFS!

10/01/2026

On Tuesday, September 29 the JFSCNJ Halpern Building in Elizabeth was filled with music and meaningful connection as Holocaust Survivors, community members, caregivers, JFSCNJ volunteers, and staff gathered for a Café Europa event.💙

The highlight of the day was a beautiful musical performance by professional singer/guitarist Courtney Colletti, who played a wide array of Hebrew, English, and classical songs. 🎶

We wanted to also thank our wonderful JFS volunteers Janet Jacobs, Debbie Neher, Glenn Wohl, and Harry Czinn for volunteering and assisting our Survivors during this wonderful program. 🙏

Café Europa continues to be a cherished opportunity for our Survivors to socialize, reconnect with old friends, and welcome new ones into their community.

Dear Friends,

As we get ready to celebrate Sukkot, we are overwhelmed by the generosity of our supporters who have donated to the High Holiday Appeal that continues to arrive by mail, online, and as pledges.

Your donations, at any level, are most welcome.

For the homebound elderly who need Kosher Meals on Wheels, nursing and home health aide assistance, to those in need of the Charlotte Shak Food Pantry, mental health counseling, the aging Holocaust Survivor who needs full time care, or providing respite for caregivers of those with Alzheimer’s/Dementia, Jewish Family Service of Central NJ is their safety net.

Our sincere thanks to all of you who have already generously contributed.

From the Board and Staff of Jewish Family Service of Central NJ, wishing you and your loved ones a joyous holiday season.

With gratitude,
