At just 22 years old, Katrina Brownlee survived being shot 10 times by the man who abused her—a New York City correction officer.

She survived, rebuilt her life, and went on to serve more than two decades with the NYPD, becoming the kind of police officer she once needed.

Her story is a powerful reminder that domestic violence does not get to write the final chapter. There can be healing, restoration, purpose, and a life lived full and free. 💜

This past Saturday, we gathered for Ishshah's Place's 3rd Annual Crab Feast, our signature fundraiser dedicated to supporting women and families impacted by domestic violence.
