Dinner is served! 🐴✨

The sanctuary herd at Hope and Healing Animal Sanctuary officially approved last night's fresh spread. There is nothing quite like watching these rescued hearts gather ’round for a peaceful, well-deserved evening feast.
Do you know every month we go through a minimum of $3000 for hay? Going into the winter months we expect it will increase to $4000-$5000. We pay for 90% of that out of pocket personally. You can sponsor a round bale for $75 a month or a small square for $8/bale
Your support makes moments like this possible—thank you for helping us keep bellies full and spirits high. 💚

💙💙9 horses down, farrier debt up!💙💙

Today was a massive Farrier Day at the barn, with 9 of our hoofed family getting fresh trims/shoes. Balancing a phone while playing musical stalls/turnouts means photo evidence is rare (seriously, where does it go the second you set it down? 🤣).

People often ask why regular farrier care is such a non-negotiable big deal. It’s so much more than just a "manicure":

* Balance & Biomechanics: Proper angles keep joints, tendons, and the spine aligned, preventing premature arthritis and lameness.
* Early Detection: Thrush, white line disease, abscesses, and cracks get caught before they turn into emergency-level blowups.
* Pain-Free Movement: Horses are prey animals built to move; compromised hooves change their gait, stress compensatory limbs, and drain their quality of life.
* Weight & Conformation Support: Rescue horses especially often come to us with neglected, distorted hooves that require careful, sequential rehabilitation to reset.
Supporting 9 horses in one sweep adds up fast! We’re hoping our incredible community can help us bridge the gap and raise back $500 to cover today’s farrier bill.

If you can chip in a few bucks, share this post, or drop some encouragement, we (and 36 happy hooves) would appreciate it more than words can say.

* Comment below with your favorite hoof-care pun (we need the laughs after writing that check!)
Thank you for always having our backs—and our horses' feet! ❤️🐴

Sometimes it’s just peaceful to watch these guys just eating🥰🥰 Scotty is one of our sanctuary horses that just enjoys his days eating and is also an amazing babysitter to our babies and yearlings that come in.

🦷 Big Smiles & Floating Days at the Sanctuary! 🦷
Yesterday was dental day for the remainder of our rescue horses plus our new intakes! From 3 years old all the way to 34 years old, EVERYONE was an absolute superstar for the dentist. 🐴✨
Why Equine Dental Care Matters
Horses' teeth continuously erupt throughout their lives, and because their upper jaw is wider than their lower jaw, chewing creates sharp enamel points (enamel points/hooks/steps) that can lacerate cheeks and tongue, cause severe pain, lead to weight loss, and cause bit resistance.
* Yearly Care (Adults 2–19): Essential for floating sharp edges, checking for loose/fractured teeth, wolf tooth management, and ensuring proper occlusion and comfortable chewing.
* Bi-Annual Care (Seniors 20+ & Miniatures): Older horses experience loose teeth, periodontal disease, missing teeth, cupping/waviness, and abnormal wear patterns that require more frequent monitoring to keep them comfortable and maintaining weight. Miniatures have the same number of teeth packed into a tiny jaw, making overcrowding, hooks, and malocclusions much more common.
We need to raise $800 to help cover this dental bill and keep our crew chewing comfortably!

🚨 URGENT LIFE-OR-DEATH DEADLINE — PLEASE READ & SHARE 🚨
Look into those soft, trusting eyes. How did it come to this, sweet Juliet? 💔
Somebody loved her once. Somebody brushed that gentle face, looked into those intelligent eyes, and called her a friend. Somebody cared—just not enough to ensure a horrific slaughterhouse truck wasn't in her future.
Now, her time has officially run out. Juliet is past her deadline, and we are completely out of time. ⏰
There is a miracle within reach, but we need your help to cross the finish line. Our incredible friends at Freedom Valley Rescue have a safe, loving sanctuary waiting for her where she can finally rest and heal.
🐴 The rescue has the open heart and the stall, but she urgently needs bail and transport funds to make the journey.
Every single second counts right now. If we don’t act immediately, time will run out for this precious girl.
💔 Please help us save Juliet before it's too late! 💔
