Will you stop and pray with us today? 🙏🇵🇰

For the past two weeks, the SMC team has been meeting over Zoom with Pastor Azeem, a faithful pastor in Pakistan raising up 15 pastors to serve 20,000 families enslaved in brick-kiln work. These communities are oral-reliant and need Scripture in their mother tongue.

But translation begins with formation.

SMC is exploring how we can walk alongside Pastor Azeem as he trains these pastors in theological formation that embeds locally led Bible translation, so they aren't just equipped with a method, but are shaped by the Word they're entrusted to translate.

This is why we exist. And we need your prayers.

🙏 THREE WAYS TO PRAY:

1️⃣ Pray for Pastor Azeem: for wisdom, protection, and endurance as he leads in a complex and sensitive context among some of Pakistan’s most vulnerable people.

2️⃣ Pray that the 15 pastors would be deeply formed: that they are theologically grounded and missionally motivated, to bring God’s Word to life in the mother tongues of brick-kiln communities.

3️⃣ Pray for SMC’s role in this partnership to be Spirit-led: that we would serve with humility, shape formation that fits the local context, and build a relationship that bears lasting fruit.

Drop a 🙏 if you’re standing with us in prayer.

In moments of conflict and uncertainty, we remember that the Church of Jesus Christ is present in every nation, including the Middle East.

Today, we pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ across the region.
We pray for pastors, churches, and believers who continue to worship, serve, and bear witness in the midst of instability.

We pray for missionaries who labor quietly and faithfully, often unseen.

And we pray that even in the shadow of war, the peace of Christ would be known.

May the Lord strengthen His Church, protect His people, and draw many to Himself.

“The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.”
—Psalm 9:9

MEET OUR MISSIONARIES | Dr. Connie Champeon

Each month, we’re inviting you to get to know the people who serve behind the scenes at Strategic Mission Collective.

Dr. Connie Champeon is a founding board member and SMC’s Chief Activator. With a PhD in sociolinguistics and adult education, Connie brings more than 30 years of experience in the Bible translation movement. She grew up watching Scripture translation fuel church planting, discipleship, and leadership development, and has spent her life strengthening that same work around the world. Now she lends that depth of wisdom to SMC’s formation and long-term strategy.

We are deeply grateful for her steady leadership and decades of faithful service.

We’re excited to share this short video introducing the heart behind Strategic Mission Collective.

SMC exists to resource the Church, especially in the Global South, through training, tools, and long-term partnerships that strengthen locally led Bible translation and Scripture engagement.

This work is not about rescuing the world.
It’s about equipping the Church to lead with faithfulness, clarity, and conviction.

🎥 We’d love for you to watch, share, and pray with us as this work continues to grow.

Nehemiah 8 is not simply a story about public reading.

It is a picture of the gathered people of God ensuring that His Word was understood.

The Law was brought before men and women.
It was read aloud.
It was explained.
And the people responded together.

Long before agencies, platforms, or strategies, there was the assembly.

Bible translation is not a modern project.
It is an expression of the Church’s responsibility to make the Word understandable among Her own people.

Around the world, faithful women and men are leading translation work in their own communities.

Not as projects.
Not as recipients.
But as stewards.

When Scripture is translated and shaped locally, it doesn’t just inform, it transforms.

We are honored to walk alongside leaders who are carrying this work forward.

We’re grateful to finally share this space with you.

Strategic Mission Collective exists to strengthen what God is already growing, walking alongside local churches and leaders through locally led Bible translation, resource development, and theological formation.

We believe faithful mission is rooted in partnership, shaped by context, and sustained for the long term.

We look forward to learning, listening, and serving together. 🌱
