Repose in Action (RIA) is a theatre training and performance program offered at no cost to motivated teens in Ukiah, California. Operating under the auspices of Ukiah Players Theatre, RIA provides teens the opportunity to cultivate personal responsibility, empathy and self-expression through the development of a range of theatre skills, including acting, directing, stage management, set and costum

e design/ construction, light and sound design, box office and house management, as well as graphic arts, marketing and grant-writing. Conceived of and guided by UPT’s Production Manager, Jenny Peterman, along with veteran stage manager, Tami Tripp, RIA recruits community mentors experienced in all aspects of live theatre who volunteer their time to train this next generation of theatre artists. This unusual program sustains and strengthens the ongoing artistic mission of Ukiah Players Theatre, while simultaneously nurturing a dedicated ensemble of local teens who are developing their whole selves through a love of theatre and service to the community.
