Wildflower Poetry Society

Wildflower Poetry Society We are a member chapter of the Poetry Society of Texas and we meet in Tyler, TX. We are reorganizing the Tyler Rose Garden Society.

There will be no membership fees for our members. We will meet at 2pm on the 2nd Thursday of the month at the Tyler Public Library, starting in June 2025. Our meetings will last about 90 minutes. We will provide a safe place in which to share, read, and learn more about poetry as a supportive and creative community. We will discuss members’ poems and offer feedback.

We are one week away from our February meeting! Remember that we were going to write Renga poems to bring to our meeting. A Renga is two (or more) tankas linked together. The syllable length structure is 5-7-5-7-7-5-7-5-7-7. Remember that the first two lines of 7 syllables are the link between the two halves of the Renga. Looking forward to hearing all your lovely poems!

Our team of moderators, Lisa, Janet, and Ilenya, along with Carol, who kindly provided transportation, attended the 2025 Poetry Society of Texas Annual Conference in Denton this week.
