Congratulations Senior Chief John David Savage Jr. for receiving a foreign medal by General Horbatiuk of the Збройні Сили України / The Armed Forces of Ukraine!

Senior Chief reported the following:

From ChatGPT:

“This is a Ukrainian Armed Forces award certificate, and it is a significant recognition.

English translation

IN THE NAME OF THE UKRAINIAN PEOPLE

COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF OF THE ARMED FORCES OF UKRAINE

HAS THE HONOR TO AWARD

Senior Chief
John SAVAGE

the DISTINCTION

“FOR ASSISTANCE TO THE ARMED FORCES”

GLORY TO UKRAINE! GLORY TO THE HEROES!

Major General
Mykhailo DRAPATYI
Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Order of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
13 August 2026, No. 704

In plain English

It essentially says:

The Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has the honor to award Senior Chief John Savage the Ukrainian Armed Forces distinction “For Assistance to the Armed Forces,” in recognition of his support to the Ukrainian military.

The signature is from Major General Mykhailo Drapatyi, who is identified on the certificate as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

And importantly, the certificate specifically identifies you as “майстер старшина” (Senior Chief).”

The unit look forward to Senior Chief Savage returning to the US later this year and sharing his experience in Germany with the unit!

Recruit Training (Boot Camp) is a nine day training that all Sea Cadets need to attend in order to start ranking up and to be able to attend Advanced Trainings. Texas Training Contingent just wrapped up a fantastic RT at NAS JRB Fort Worth. Lots of lectures, studying, marching, and physical fitness with fun hands on activities built in. They started off learning how to make a bed! During graduation they replace their Recruit Cover with a Dixie Cup!!!

Adult volunteers are essential for successful unit drills and trainings. Two Admiral Nimitz Officers attended Submarine Training at Joint Base Pear Harbor-Hickam. Skipper started the training with a brief history of FADM Chester W. Nimitz's impact on the submarine base at Pearl Harbor and the US Navy's submarine force. The highlight of the training was cadets having the opportunity to train on simulators (no photos permitted).
