We have our Mothers' Moment Drive happening this month and also East Texas Giving Day is happening this month!

We are raising funds to expand and update our food pantry which we have outgrown due to demand and food insecurity rates rising because of COVID.

If you aren't familiar with this event, East Texas Giving Day is an 18-hour online event that provides critical funding in East Texas for nonprofits. It is a huge region-wide event that brings awareness and importance to the nonprofits in this area.

You can give early too, not just on April 26th!

About Us

In response to the HIV epidemic, East Texas Cares Resource Center was formed in 1989 to assist a rural, under-served area in understanding how the virus was transmitted and proper prevention. Our work includes connecting with other service organizations to connect and reconnect people to medical care and support services, with an intent of increasing the number and percentage of people virally suppressed in the region. We also educate people about what being HIV positive means in terms of the impact on their health and the health of others. In 2013, we expanded our outreach providing supportive services to all members of our community with a demonstrated need for assistance.

Our Mission

​Knowing that the circumstances and conditions where people live learn, work and play have a great impact on health risks and outcomes; East Texas CARES Resource Center is committed to being the “HOPE AMID DESPAIR” in the East Texas region. We provide health education material as well as STD prevention handouts to help decrease the rate of infections in the East Texas communities. We assist persons and their families living with HIV to improve and enhance their quality of life and serve as an advocate working alongside them in ending the HIV epidemic. We also serve as a resource center to those in need of affordable healthcare, housing assistance, referrals to physical and behavioral health services and other supportive programs that will lead to improving population health outcomes in our region.
