In 1983, Monsignor Milam Joseph and a group of visionary supporters of Catholic education came together to create the Tyler Catholic School Foundation (TCSF). The dream of the founders of TCSF was to create a vehicle

whose mission was to support the schools of what was then the Tyler Catholic School System, St. Gorman Middle and High Schools. Created as a separate private 501(c)(3) nonprofit entity, apart from the schools or the parishes, the Foundation’s goals were to:
Provide scholarships to deserving students
Create endowments to support teaching excellence
Develop a permanent endowment fund
Provide an informational service for persons interested in supporting Catholic education at many different levels
Provide a focal point for lifetime memorial, philanthropic and testamentary gifts for the benefit of the students the Foundation ultimately serves
Constantly assess changing and emerging needs within the Tyler Catholic School System and develop support strategies to respond to them
As in the beginning, Catholic and non Catholic students of all ethnic backgrounds at what are now St. Gregory Cathedral School and Bishop T.K. Gorman Regional Catholic School are at the center of what the Tyler Catholic School Foundation is all about. Our mission is to create and sustain a source of permanent funding in support of the excellent education they receive and insure that students in the future will be the beneficiaries of a legacy of educational excellence and faith formation.
