Year-End Donation Matching Challenge!

Tomorrow Tuesday, December 2nd is Giving Tuesday, and many of the companies we work for offer matching gift programs. Since DAT is a 501(c)(3) organization, we encourage you to take advantage of your employer’s generosity. Mary and I are blessed to leverage our own companies’ matching programs, and we hope you can too!

We’re thrilled to share that after an incredible summer of fundraising, we officially broke ground this week on our fourth project in Togo, West Africa!

This new elementary school, located about 30 minutes outside the capital city, will replace a deteriorated structure that had been overtaken by termites. The site is already taking shape — the land has been cleared, the termite mounds removed, and anti-termite treatment applied.

When doors open in summer 2026, more than 300 children will have access to a safe, vibrant place to learn and grow.

How much $$ does it take to build a school with ?
We budget $65,000 which builds a Kindergarten through 5th grade classroom building, restrooms and lunch pavilion. All three on campus ensures the students can spend all day learning with minimal disruption

Next week we are partnering with Christ Community Chapel Kids Camp! We can't wait to share the DAT story with a 1,000 kids and their families.

Before any actual construction there is a lot of prep work for a new school to be launched. This week Emmanuel met with the area superintendent, local chief, area chief and other key stakeholders for this community.

What else is happening this summer?? Kicking off school #4 this week in another village location. We have lovingly tagged this next as they lost their original building to those local pests.
