Malibu’s story began when she was spotted alone on the side of the road by a concerned community member. Animal Control was able to locate her and get her safely to the Palms-N-Paws Animal Shelter.

Once there, it became clear that Malibu needed urgent medical care. With time working against her, action had to be taken quickly.

Through collaboration with Right Fit Rescue, a veterinary partner was found who could fit Malibu into their schedule for lifesaving surgery. Pals of Palms-N-Paws covered the cost of her medical treatment and provided the transportation needed to make her appointment possible.

Before sunrise, transport was on the road to Diamond Bar to make sure Malibu could receive the care she needed. It was a long day, but one that gave her a chance at a brighter future.

Thanks to a lot of teamwork, Malibu got the medical care she needed. What happened next is a great example of what can be accomplished when a community comes together for an animal in need.

It takes a village. ❤️

Today, a few Pals volunteers rolled up their sleeves and got everything ready for the first distribution days of our Pet Food Bank.

Thank you to everyone who has donated pet food and supplies to help make this possible. Because of your generosity, we’ll be hosting monthly distribution days with our partners in Twentynine Palms and Wonder Valley to help local families care for the pets they love.

📍 Distribution Locations & Times:

Feed 29
Third Monday of each month at 3:00 PM

Wonder Valley Community Center
Third Tuesday of each month at 10:00 AM

Dry and canned pet food will be available while supplies last.

As demand grows, continued donations will help ensure we can keep this program going and provide support to families who need a little extra help.

Yesterday’s clinic was a huge success, and we want to extend our sincere thanks to Military Spouses’ Association of 29 Palms and Animal Action League for making it possible.

Thanks to the grant awarded to us by Military Spouses’ Association of Twentynine Palms, 37 animals belonging to military-affiliated families received spay and neuter services at no cost to them. This support helps remove barriers to essential veterinary care while strengthening our community.

To our service members, veterans, military spouses, and reservists, thank you for your service and sacrifice. It was our privilege to give back to those who give so much.

Thank you again to our partners for helping us keep pets healthy, families supported, and more animals out of shelters!

If you have a female dog under 60lbs, a male dog under 80lbs, or cats that need an appointment, please reach out!

We need to fill a few more slots. We need your name, whether you have a cat/dog, and their weight and breed and we may be able to get you in! Must show proof of military affiliation at time of clinic!

🐾 We’re excited to announce that our Community Pet Food Bank officially begins distribution this month! 🐾

Thanks to partnerships with local food banks in Twentynine Palms and Wonder Valley, we’re helping provide dog and cat food to families who may need a little extra support.

‼️Spay and Neuter Clinic for Military Families Standby Information‼️

Didn’t get an appointment for our June 13th clinic? You may still have a chance by waiting standby the day of.

Here’s how standby works:

🐾 Arrive at the clinic location by 8:00 AM with your pet: Animal Action League Joshua Tree Main Office: 62762 29 Palms Highway
🐾 Your pet must have no food or water after midnight the night before surgery.
🐾 Do not leave the premises. You will know by approximately 9:15 AM whether we are able to accommodate your pet that day.
🐾 Please note that we cannot control how many people arrive for standby. In the past, lines have started forming as early as 7:00 AM.

⚠️ Standby is NOT a guaranteed appointment. Pets are accepted only if openings become available.

This clinic is sponsored by a grant we received from Military Spouses’ Association of 29 Palms and identification is required at check in for proof of eligibility.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth at the Backyard BBQ last Sunday!

It was wonderful to see both familiar and new faces, share our mission, and connect with the community that makes this work possible.

We’re also excited to share that our first pet food drive was a huge success! Thanks to your generosity, we received an incredible amount of donated pet food to help launch this new program.

We’ll be announcing distribution dates and locations soon, so stay tuned for more information.

First, we want to thank everyone who has donated to the Pals Pet Food Bank. Your generosity has helped make this program possible, and we are excited to begin distribution days with our partners in Twentynine Palms and Wonder Valley.

As we prepare for our first distributions, we are looking for volunteers to help sort and bag pet food donations.

If you would like to help, please join us on Sunday, June 14th at 9:00 AM at The Palms Restaurant in Wonder Valley. We will begin with brunch and a brief informational meeting, followed by pet food preparation for upcoming distribution days.

The Pals of Palms-N-Paws is honored to partner with and to provide a sponsored spay and neuter clinic for military families.

Thanks to a grant awarded by the Military Spouses’ Association, this fully funded clinic is available to:

🐾 Active Duty Service Members
🐾 Reservists
🐾 Military Spouses
🐾 Veterans

A limited number of appointments are available for both cats and dogs, with eligibility based on breed and weight restrictions.

Come see us at the Backyard BBQ on Sunday, May 31 at the Historic Plaza! 🌭🐾

We’ll have our pop-up tent set up and will be collecting unopened dry and wet dog + cat food as part of our first community pet food drive. 🐶🐱

All donations will help support local families and their pets through our partnership with local food banks, helping keep bowls full for pets in our community.
