From Tammy Herrington, Director of Conservation Alabama:
Conservation Alabama's work focuses on state government. We track bills that could impact our natural resources and our communities and make sure you have the information you need to speak up for your conservation values. While Montgomery is where we spend most of our time and energy, we also watch what's happening in Washington, D.C. to see how it could impact us here at home. Lately, policies protecting clean water and public lands have been at risk on Capitol Hill, and it's important that we have federal representatives that speak up for our priorities.
On December 12, Alabamians will go to the polls to elect our next U.S. Senator. When you vote, please consider the impact your ballot will have on federal policies like the Land and Water Conservation Fund and the Clean Water Act. The health and well-being of our shared resources - and the future generations of Alabamians who will depend on them - are directed by the votes that we cast.
