Meet Lisa Kidder, Prentice Concert Chorale member and PCC board member. An active singer for several years, Lisa initially joined the Prentice Chorale board as an at-large member. Recently she took over as our graphic designer and in this role helped design a new PCC logo that maintains the iconic chanticleer from our original logo as Tuscaloosa Community Singers and is responsible for social media images and posts and concert programs, including this fall's "I Am Prentice" campaign. We are grateful for Lisa's voice and her artistic gifts as graphic designer.

Meet Caroline Kelly, Prentice Concert Chorale member. Caroline grew up in a home filled with music and attending/serving churches where she could actively engage both as a musician and serving with church musicians. Caroline moved to Tuscaloosa in 2024 to become pastor of Grace Presbyterian Church, Tuscaloosa, and was excited to learn she worked where Prentice Chorale rehearsed and thrilled that her first season with Prentice Chorale included singing Mozart's Requiem in D. Caroline is both knowledgeable of and appreciative of choral, solo, organ/piano and instrumental music and thoroughly enjoys opportunities to sing.

Meet Prentice Chorale member and PCC board member, Jennifer Cabanero. Due her work schedule Jennifer usually has to quietly slip into place after rehearsals have begun but you can always count on her to come prepared to sing. Jennifer may be soft-spoken but her singing voice reveals her love of music and the joy she experiences when singing.

Meet Prentice Concert Chorale member and board member, Nikki Shelby. Years ago Nikki was introduced to Prentice Chorale as an invited singer for the Tuscaloosa Symphony Orchestra's annual holiday concert. It required a shift in her work schedule but with a long history as pianist, soloist, and church choir singer Nikki was an excellent candidate to became a regular Prentice Chorale member. She has a soul for music and a voice that brings beautiful harmony to the group.

Meet Prentice Concert Chorale member Jennifer Sheppard. A native of Chicago, IL Jennifer received excellent music education and performance opportunities. Filled with multiple world-class music, literary, and arts organizations, Jennifer grew up experiencing some of the best Chicago had to offer. A voracious reader and an excellent cook Jennifer spent many years sharing her business and management skills as director of Tuscaloosa's Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry, now Table of Grace market. Her latest joy is coaching Druid City Derby's junior team but she still makes time for Prentice Chorale.

Meet Matt Smith, a long-time Prentice Concert Chorale member. Matt is another of our PCC members who is not easily defined. Growing up in South America, the son of missionaries, Matt gained a unique perspective of what it means to be an American. His mother was a long-time church organist and pianist and his father was a Fulbright scholar, musician, and theologian. While Matt's interests definitely include music he also has an eye for design and the skills of an information technologist, engineer, electrician, and metal and woodworker. He loves exploring new technologies and exploring the great outdoors.

Meet Prentice Concert Chorale member, Raye Blumthal. Two words that aptly describe Raye are musical and adventurous. As you read from her quote Raye grew up singing a broad spectrum of musical genres and that love of singing continues today. Her love of adventure includes the recreation varieties: camping, hiking, and river rafting, and then there's homesteading: raising bees, growing vegetables and herbs and mushrooms and finding every possible way to reuse, repurpose, and recycle. For Raye, enjoying music and a deep appreciation of creation very much go hand-in-hand.
