Table of Grace Pantry

Table of Grace Pantry Table of Grace is a non-profit client-choice food pantry in West Alabama. Our food is displayed much like in a market.

Our neighbors select from the available inventory. Choices vary month to month depending on food availability.

Is your summer garden overflowing with tomatoes, squash, or peppers? Don't let that beautiful fresh produce go to waste! Fresh fruits and vegetables are some of our most requested items, but they can be the hardest to keep in stock.

Share the bounty with your neighbors! Drop off your extra garden harvest at our warehouse and help us put fresh, healthy food on the tables of West Alabama families.

Food pantries like ours are committed to serving our neighbors, but pantries and food banks are designed to work alongside SNAP and are not positioned to replace it.

SNAP itself is only supplemental - that's what the "S" stands for. SNAP benefits most of the time do not meet a family's grocery needs for an entire month - that's where food pantries and food banks come in.

🛒What's in the Market Wednesday

Good ol' okra! It's a heat-hardy plant that's doing well in gardens this hot summer. We were blessed to receive several pounds from local farmers this week! 🌱

Fried okra is a popular item at Southern meat-and-3 restaurants, of course. But okra is popular all over the world, including in South Asia. In fact, the largest producer of okra is India! 🍜

Okra is super versatile, and besides being delicious fried, it can also be steamed, boiled, pickled, pureed to use as a thickener in gumbos and soups, and even eaten raw! Have you ever tried raw okra?

💚 Thankful Tuesday: A Tasty Treat 💚

This week we're celebrating A Tasty Treat, one of the amazing Tuscaloosa River Market vendors who helps us reduce food waste and feed neighbors by donating unsold baked goods, including delicious gluten-free treats.

Their generosity makes a sweet difference for the families we serve!

✨ Next time you're at the River Market, stop by A Tasty Treat and support the local businesses that help strengthen our community.

Table of Grace by the numbers:

From June to July, pantry visits increased 15%, with 915 households served in July alone.

This impact is only possible because of our incredible volunteers who unload deliveries, stock shelves, assist shoppers, greet neighbors, glean fresh produce, tend our garden, and help keep everything running smoothly.

Want to make a difference? Sign up to volunteer on our website and help feed our community!
