It’s time to rally your royal supporters and help your favorite scholars earn their crown! 👑 From Prince & Princess to King & Queen, our scholars are ready to compete for the crown and make MLK Homecoming history!

We are excited to welcome Mrs. Jessica Jackson into her new role as Instructional Coach at Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School, beginning September 1st!

Mrs. Jackson brings a passion for teaching, learning, and supporting the success of both educators and scholars. In this role, she will work alongside our teachers to strengthen instructional practices, support professional growth, and help ensure that every classroom provides high-quality learning experiences for our students.

We are excited about the knowledge, energy, and leadership Mrs. Jackson will bring to this position as we continue pushing toward academic excellence at The King!

This will be another great opportunity to connect with our school family, visit classrooms, and learn more about how we can work together to ensure every scholar has a successful year!

We kicked off Week 2 with a BANG at The King! 👑

After a full day of teaching and learning, our faculty ended the day growing together through a powerful Professional Learning Opportunity (PLO) led by our Math Coach, Ms. Brooks! ➕➗✏️

We’re sharpening our instructional practices, strengthening our math instruction, and keeping the focus where it belongs—on student growth and achievement!

The work continues, the expectations are high, and we’re pushing forward together!

Our FIRST FULL WEEK at “The King” is officially in the books! ❤️🖤🦅

What an incredible start to the 2026–2027 school year! Our scholars are learning routines, building relationships, and getting ready to soar academically. A huge THANK YOU to our teachers, staff, families, and community for helping us start the year FALCON STRONG!

📣 DAY 2 ARRIVAL & DISMISSAL REMINDERS

Day 2 at “The King” is in the books! ❤️🖤 We appreciate our families for continuing to work with us as we strengthen our arrival and dismissal routines.

🚗 CAR RIDERS
• Please remain in your vehicle throughout dismissal.
• Do not park and walk up to pick up your child.
• Please make sure your child knows they are a car rider before coming to school.

🚶🏾 WALKERS
• Walkers will be dismissed at 2:38 PM from the designated walker area.
• If an approved adult is not present to pick up your child, the student will be brought back inside and dismissed as a car rider.

🚌 BUS RIDERS
• Please remind your child of their bus number each morning.
• Students should know that they are riding the bus home before arriving at school.

⭐ 21ST CENTURY BEGINS TOMORROW — AUGUST 12!
21st Century After-School begins tomorrow for students who have:
✅ Been accepted into the program
✅ Received confirmation of acceptance
✅ Attended the required orientation
Completing an application alone does not mean that your child has been accepted into the program.
Please continue talking with your child each morning about exactly how they are getting home. This small reminder helps us make dismissal safer, faster, and more efficient for everyone.
