Just a quick reminder that all OEI office locations will be closed on Monday, September 7th, to celebrate Labor Day. We hope you get to enjoy the lovely weather before the leaves start falling and sweaters come out. It's also a wonderful opportunity to honor the hard work of Americans and to give everyone a chance to relax and reflect on a job well done. We'll be back to our regular hours (8 a.m. to 4 p.m.) on September 8th. Wishing everyone a safe, joyful, and restful Labor Day!

"Hay" there, friends. 🌾

There’s a lot to love about hay. It keeps our four-legged friends happy, fills hungry bellies, and makes sure everyone has plenty of good-quality feed when they need it. But there’s another side to hay that doesn’t always make it into the pretty farm photos...

THE WORK. šŸ˜…

Our hay is delivered to the farm, but once it arrives, that’s when the real teamwork begins. Loading, unloading, carrying, stacking, restacking, and somehow finding room for what feels like an entire small mountain of hay takes a LOT of hands and a whole lot of muscle.

Swipe through these before-and-after photos, and you’ll see exactly what we mean. What starts as a giant pile of bales waiting to be conquered eventually becomes an organized, neatly stacked hay supply ready to keep our animals fed.

And that transformation doesn’t happen by itself.

It takes teamwork, planning, determination, sore muscles, sweaty brows, and probably a few ā€œwho thought this was a good idea?ā€ moments along the way. šŸ˜‚

So today, we’re giving a little appreciation to hay... and an even BIGGER thank-you to the people who wrestle it into submission.

Because around here, hay isn’t just something the animals eat.

It’s preparation. It’s teamwork. It’s hard work. And it’s one more way our farm family makes sure our animals are cared for all year long.

We’re definitely feeling the shift into fall around here, and we’re not mad about it. The mornings are a little cooler, the days are getting shorter, and there’s that unmistakable feeling that a new season is just around the corner. Fallllll is coming, friends. ā¤ļøā¤ļø

Happy Friday from the farm!

We made it through another week, and around here, that feels like a pretty good reason to celebrate.

The animals are doing their thing, and we’re soaking up every bit of this beautiful summer while we can. There’s always something happening around here, and honestly, we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Now it’s time to trade the to-do list for a little fresh air, sunshine, and maybe a weekend adventure or two.

Whatever you’ve got planned, we hope your Friday is a good one and your weekend is even better.

Happy Friday, friends. Go outside, get a little dirt under your fingernails, and enjoy the simple stuff. That’s where the good stuff usually happens.

Equine Assisted Riding (EAR) at a therapeutic riding center is a structured, non-medical program that uses horse-related activities to support a person’s physical, cognitive, and emotional development.

But sometimes, we take the term ā€œEAR therapyā€ a little more literally. šŸ˜‚

Izzy was absolutely loving her ear rubs today. There’s nothing quite like a good scratch in just the right spot, especially when you have a human who knows exactly where to find it.

Sometimes therapy looks like building strength, confidence, and connection. And sometimes it looks like standing quietly with a horse... or a donkey in this case, and giving her the world’s best ear rub.

We’re pretty sure Izzy would vote for more of the second kind.

Say hello to our newest little visitors, Juno & Andy! 🐾

These two adorable Great Pyrenees siblings from Western Maine Great Pyrenees Rescue are staying with us here at the farm for a little while, and they have already become the cutest temporary additions to our farm family.

Lady absolutely LOVES having these two little pups around and has happily taken on the role of their farm-life babysitter. She has some new friends to keep an eye on, and honestly, she seems pretty pleased about it. ā¤ļø

We’re so happy to have Juno & Andy spending some time with us and can’t wait to see what kind of puppy adventures they get into while they’re here!

Welcome to the farm, you two. We’re glad to have you!
