Tuskegee University has banned bonnets, durags, bedroom shoes, and revealing clothing in classrooms, dining facilities, and official campus settings. Announced by President Dr. Mark A. Brown in this month, the policy aims to enforce a professional standard and prepare students for the corporate workforce.

Students must bring business suits and professional footwear to campus for meetings and formal university events like Convocation. The university has authorized faculty members to directly address and discipline students who violate the dress code guidelines.

The dress code rollout coincides with a broader institutional crackdown, including mandatory classroom attendance tracking and a strict ban on unauthorized cell phone use during class.

Open Hands Receive More

We spend a lot of time holding tightly to our plans, our expectations, and even our disappointments. But God often does His best work when we loosen our grip and trust Him with what we cannot control. Open hands are a sign of faith. They show that we are willing to receive whatever God wants to give instead of insisting on our own way. Sometimes He replaces our worries with peace, our fears with courage, or our plans with something even better than we imagined. Today, ask yourself what you need to place into God’s hands. When you let go in faith, you make room for Him to work in ways you never expected.

Bible Verse:

“Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.”

James 4:10
