This quote is profound, and one of our favorites. Is it saying that all wives must stay home while husbands pursue their careers? Not at all! It's about mutual enjoyment, honor, and security.

Here are some thoughts.

Wives have a unique ability to create atmosphere and culture in the home—whether they're home or out at work most of the day.

Fierce wife, are you creating a home culture that is full of peace, love, gratitude, and grace? Or is home a place of chaos and strife?

But the husband is not without responsibility for his home's culture as well.

Husbands have a unique ability to create security in the home; and not just financial security. A husband who loves and leads his family like Christ will be a protector, a peacemaker, and a provider on all levels.

Fierce husband, are your actions perpetuating security in Christ? Are you a source of strength and love for your wife and kids, or are you aloof and disconnected?

If you're a provider of good things (in Christ, by His grace alone) to your family, they'll hate to see you leave.

Fierce couples, may your household be a place filled with longing for one another. And may your reuniting every day be a joyful occasion!

Much love,
Ryan & Selena

Healthy marriages rarely fall apart all at once. Rather, they often drift through small, consistent moments of neglect. Conversations become shorter. Intentionality fades. Pursuit gets replaced with distraction and busyness. Scripture reminds us that a fruitful vineyard doesn’t become overgrown overnight. It’s overtaken little by little, day by day. In the same way, relationships are rarely damaged by one big moment, but through small patterns of neglect over time. The good news is that with God, neglect doesn’t have to be the end of your story. Keep showing up. Keep praying together. Keep choosing one another. With God’s help, what was once neglected can still bloom again.

Dedicated partners show their commitment in the following ways:
1. They think more like a team, with a strong orientation toward "us" and "we."
2. They make their partner and marriage a high priority.
3. They protect their relationship from attraction to others.
4. They sacrifice for one another without resentment.
5. They invest of themselves in building a future together with a long-term view.

Today, May 15th, is a celebration of our "Engagement Day" 50 years ago! These two young kids had no idea what would be in store for them! As we looked into each other's eyes we saw the same love and commitment then that we still see in each other’s eyes today. We’ve been through a lot together and yet we’ve always emerged closer and stronger than before, due to God’s grace in this love He has given us. It’s the giving and the sharing, the faith in one another and in God that makes our commitment to each other strong.
FYI: I made the shirt he is wearing, and dig that groovy 70's belt I have on!
