The medical field has now labeled a broken heart as “Broken Heart Syndrome.” This sudden weakening of the heart muscle in response to extreme trauma such as the loss of a child can be detected on scans. When someone says , “I felt my heart break”, believe them. Broken Heart Syndrome is real!

The Wave of Light is not just for bereaved parents. It is meant to help a parent feel less alone. It doesn’t matter if it’s been one month, one year, or 10 years since their loss.

Lighting a candle for a loved one or a friend who has had a loss is a beautiful way to show up for them. It shows them that you remember their baby and you support them in their grieving. 💗
