Today COWWC has about 500 members and many volunteers who help with waterfowl disease control efforts, habitat improvement projects, and improving access for disabled persons on the Klamath Basin Refuges. Many of us have been committee members or volunteers for other organizations. We formed COWWC because we did not see enough of our efforts result in improvements to the Klamath Basin where we hun
t the majority of the time. Therefore, we formed an organization specifically limited to the Klamath Basin so that whatever we raised or did stayed here and did not end up somewhere else. Our purpose is to be a public benefit charitable corporation. Our objectives include the preserving and increasing of wildlife in the Klamath Basin National Wildlife Refuges, as well as the surrounding Klamath Basin area. This will enhance healthy populations of birds which should allow continued quality hunting opportunities for the general public. We work in direct coordination with the Refuge and always with their permission when performing volunteer work. Such work includes habitat improvement, disease control and refuge maintenance. Pick up diseased birds each spring and summer.
