💚Clover Bud Spotlight💚

River Rose is excited to be part of 4-H and is especially enjoying her first year of learning about everything that 4-H has to offer.She loves learning new things, asking questions, and discovering what she will be able to participate in as she gets older.

One of River’s favorite parts of 4-H is spending time with her friends and meeting other kids who share her love of animals and the outdoors. She is excited to learn from the older 4-H members and look forward to all the new experiences and opportunities ahead.

River’s biggest goal in 4-H is to show animals and spend as much time around animals as possible! She loves caring for animals, learning about them, and hopes to continue growing her knowledge and skills through 4-H for many years to come.

I’d like to give a HUGE shout out to Brylyn. Brylyn is Tularosa 4-H Club’s Vice President and Otero County 4-H Council’s Reporter. She graduated from A2Z Homeschool this past spring.

Brylyn has shown lambs, pigs, and steers for years. Her latest focus has been working diligently on building a beef breeding program.

In Fair Season 2026, her efforts came together with well deserved recognitions.

New Mexico State Fair:
First in her class breeding heifer.
4th overall breeding heifer.
First in her class with one steer and 2nd in class with another.
3rd in the market heifer class.

Otero County Fair:
4th place with her pig and made sale.
Grand Champion breeding heifer.
2nd place market heifer in a class with all steers.
3rd place with her steer.
Senior showmanship for swine and beef 😎

Southern New Mexico State Fair:
First with her breeding heifer and
GRAND CHAMPION BREEDING HEIFER. 🏆
2nd with her market heifer in a class of 8 steers.

She wisely chose to pull her heifers from the SNMSF sale so that she can utilize their stunning genetics and all of her hard work in future breeding prospects.

I am SO proud of this young lady and have to admit that watching her in that ring for the last time as a Tularosa 4-H member brought a tear or two to my eye. This was Brylyn’s senior year so she cannot show anymore in New Mexico, however she wants to start showing at the national
shows. We look forward to seeing her shine as she enters these higher level competitions.

Tularosa 4-H Kids, and A2Z students did so great at the Southern New Mexico State Fair! Many placed and two kiddos have animals in the sale tonight! Please, consider supporting these hard working kids through a purchase of their animal or an add on. Link is below!

Our member of the month of September is Amalia. She is finishing her 2nd year in 4-H. So far, her favorite activity has been YGA. She also likes making friends, helping with volunteer projects, and attends many of our community service projects. She always has a smile on her face and is happy to help. We look forward to watching her continue to serve her community.

Our Member of the Month of August is Jurnie.
Jurnie has been a dedicated 4-H member of the Tularosa club for several years. She has great attendance, volunteers at our community service projects, and attends state events such as Senior Leadership Retreat. In addition to these activities, Jurnie likes to spend time with her horse, attend church with friends, and help her mom on their property. She is a sweet, kind person who is willing to help in any way she can. Thank you Jurnie, keep up the good work!

Our Member of the Month for July is Jasper.
Jasper is going into his 5th year of showing pigs and lambs. He much prefers pigs to sheep and hopes to show a steer before his stock show career is over. Jasper has his own show pig breeding SAE and is the proud owner of 3 boars and 15 permanent resident sows. He has goals of attending the Southwest Type Conference (a breeder’s show) in February to move his SAE to the next level. When Jasper is not being the crazy pig guy, he loves to go fishing, try cooking new recipes, and play with his pug, Potato. Thank you Jasper!
