🦌 The Palo Alto Ranch Project is ready! 🦌

Last week, Matt and Jeff hauled tires from the Percell Tire scrap yard out to Palo Alto Ranch in preparation for our upcoming 8-mile water expansion project.

Under the ownership of Doug Lowell, this project will include the installation of 8 miles of pipeline, two storage tanks, and multiple wildlife drinkers. This is a major undertaking, so get ready, volunteers we’re going to need you!

The work we’re doing today will provide reliable water for our wildlife for years to come. 💧🦌

A special thank you to Melissa and Mark at Purcell Tire for their cooperation and enthusiasm for what we’re working to accomplish. Partnerships like this make projects like Palo Alto possible!

We recently helped work on the Hualapai Well Project, helping improve water access for wildlife. Seeing this elk taking advantage of that water makes all the hard work worthwhile.

Thank you to our members, volunteers, donors, and supporters who make projects like this possible. Your support puts water on the ground and makes a real difference for wildlife.

This is why we do what we do. Water is life. Conservation is action.

WOW! Thank you, Tucson!

Our very first Mule Deer Foundation Tucson Chapter banquet welcomed more than 200 guests, and thanks to the incredible support from our community, we’ve already booked next year’s event!

A huge thank you to the Elks Lodge for providing an outstanding venue and an amazing staff that helped make the evening a success.

We also made countless new connections with volunteers, committee members, field crew members, and potential sponsors who will help us continue our conservation efforts throughout Southern Arizona.

Good luck to everyone heading out on their upcoming hunts, and keep an eye out for the exciting habitat projects we have in the works.

Also, don’t forget that our annual Deer-A-Palooza returns this December. Stay tuned for more details. We can’t wait to see you there!

CALL TO ACTION: Please take a moment to sign the petition and help protect Southern Arizona’s public lands. Thousands of acres of open Sonoran Desert near Robles Junction and Three Points could soon be rezoned for an industrial-scale solar project.

This land is not empty. It provides critical habitat for mule deer, quail, javelina, coyotes, countless other native wildlife, and the people who enjoy these public lands for hunting, hiking, and recreation. It’s part of the landscape that makes Southern Arizona so special.

The Tucson Chapter of the Mule Deer Foundation is proud to be working alongside the Southern Arizona Open Space Alliance to help protect this precious wildlife habitat and keep Robles Junction from becoming an industrial solar field.

Conservation isn’t just about restoring habitat it’s also about protecting the places we still have. Together, we can ensure these open desert landscapes remain wild for generations of wildlife and outdoor enthusiasts.

Open Space Alliance opposes the proposed Repsol industrial solar project near Robles Junction and Three Points because it would put an industrial solar field on precious open desert habitat.

The Paccamodo Tank, Well, and Solar Project is officially complete!

The Tucson Chapter of the Mule Deer Foundation is proud to see our labor and Chapter Rewards funds put to work on a project that will provide lasting benefits for wildlife and the surrounding habitat. A huge thank you to everyone who volunteered their time and to all who contributed to making this project a reality.

The work doesn’t stop here, pipeline extensions and additional tire tanks are planned for this canyon in the near future, expanding reliable water access even further.

Rail 3 Ranch Tank Float Access Panel Project – COMPLETE!

The Tucson Chapter of the Mule Deer Foundation wrapped up another successful conservation project on June 7th, installing the final protective float access panels at Rail 3 Ranch. All eight water tanks are now protected from damage caused by cattle and curious bighorn sheep, helping prevent costly water loss.

This project was a true team effort. Special thanks to Reg Munoz for leading fabrication, Bobby Venezuela, Javi Martinez, Javi Jr., Carlos Mendiville, Jeff Hannum, Amanda Miller, Rodney Garvin, and everyone else who volunteered their time and equipment to get the job done.

It was hot, dusty, heavy work, but the team powered through and completed the project. Thank you to everyone who helped make another meaningful improvement for wildlife in Southern Arizona!
