Tucson Deserves Better - No 418/419

Tucson Deserves Better - No 418/419 RTA has been a financial, environmental, & community disaster for Tucson. RTA Next is more of the same. Imagine what's possible.

A vote against Prop 418/419 this March is a vote for the 🚌 🚲 🚶🏽‍♀️ 👩🏻‍🦽 🚊 🚙 future Tucson deserves.

A handful of good things in a plan are not a reason to support a massive long term committment to a regressive, backwards, environmentally disastrous plan. They’re a distraction! You don’t buy an overpriced fixer upper with a bad floor plan because you like the tile on the backsplash. Do you???

They’re running on accountability, but the RTA record the last 20 years and the continued misleading claims tell a different story. Vote no on 418/419.

Big money from special interests and misleading ads are not how local elections should be decided.

Who benefits from public investment?

Our communities? Our environment? Our future?

Or special interests that benefit from irresponsible and uneven patterns of growth and profit?

RTA Next includes more than $1 billion for road and freeway interchange expansion at the edges of our region rather than investing in existing communities by improving what we already have. And the yes campaign is paid for mostly by the road building industry and developers.

RTA Next is a 20-year commitment, so the implications for equity, safety, and climate action are massive.

From data centers to Props 418 & 419, our region is faced with stark choices about what kind of place we will be in the future.

The yes campaign is spending upwards of $600,000 to sway voters, mostly paid for by the road building industry and developers who stand to benefit.

As a grassroots campaign, our biggest strength is in small, honest conversations about the real issues Tucsonans care about.
